Me thinks the FBI director isn't telling the truth and every communication is stored in Utah for the government to analyze. I don't believe the government can be trusted to secure my personal information. Also I don't like it that Apple and Google act as messaging communication channels, since they spy on us for marketing purposes. Where is the industry competition and the consumer protections we deserve?

Thanks. I’m going to keep a close watch on mine for any suspicious activity...

So far it’s just sitting there, but thanks to your warning, I’m going to prevent it from protecting any pedophiles in the area.

Myself, I suspect the iPhone and etc. have already been cracked by the government and they’re lying about not being able to get into them as a way to lull people into being less careful with cell phones. Not like I ever have anything important to say, but if it’s personal or whatever I sure don’t say it online or on the phone.

So if we have to trample the privacy rights of 300 million Americans so we can more easily catch the hundreds of pedophiles, well then that's the price of Liberty.

If the snoopers can’t get access to my private info, I think I am good with that.

Comey said Apple's encryption standards for iPhones and iPads "put people beyond the law."

He is lying. They can get a court order to have the owner unlock his phone. If he doesn't, he goes to jail.

Apple's new privacy features protect kidnappers, pedophiles and terrorists, according to FBI director James Comey.

"Won't someone please, please think of the children?"

Apple's new privacy features also protect the privacy of those of us who are not kidnappers, pedophiles or terrorists. There are plenty of ways to track down and stop criminals without taking short-cuts over the rights of the huge majority of innocent citizens.

It’s “for the children.”

They need a new lie.

How many pedophiles were caught before, when they could sniff iPhones without any warrant?

Eff you, jack-booted jerkoff.

"put people beyond the law."

Nearly all citizens should be beyond the law as practiced by our unionized, political police force.

Sorry, FBI, but we put just a little less belief into your statements than we do for those coming from the Obamadork/fabricator/felon/idiot/POS.

Apple's new privacy features protect kidnappers, pedophiles and terrorists, according to FBI director James Comey. In an interview on CBS' "60 Minutes" on Sunday, Comey said Apple's encryption standards for iPhones and iPads "put people beyond the law."

Well it looks like they've decided the dumbing-down is complete.

The only next step I can see is for the Director of the FBI to go on 60 Minutes and just flat-out declare: "because I say so, you got a problem with that"?

So they make a special version called the iPed? Is there something special I’ll about it? Imagine that, it only protects pedophiles and nobody else.

If the FBI wants to get a suspected pedophile off of the streets, then it needs needs to consider the following "unusual," constitutionally compliant approach imo.

The FBI needs to comply with the 4th Amendment and secure a court-issued search warrant from a non-activist judge, the warrant ordering the suspect to unlock the iPhone so that the FBI can search the iPhone for suspected material. But if the suspect refuses to comply with the warrant then the suspect will be in contempt of court and the feds can throw the suspect in jail.

But that same encryption could be used to protect abused women looking for safety or even women wanting abortions. (there, that should get the left spinning their heads in cognitive dissonance.)
