I see Jan and Dean, Dick Dale mentioned, I guess the list is "okay", probably need a real "local" though to tell us what it's about.
I saw that there were dozens if not more of surf groups back then (the way there became a lot of "garage bands" too a little later on), this one fellow pointed me out to some sort of multi-CD release of some of the more obscure Surf bands. In fact here it is titled "Surf Age Nuggets":

I came of age in 50s-60s. My radio was on most of the time. Even in the far-flung Philippines and in southern Italy, we had radio access to the latest US music. I don’t think I’ve heard of 3% of the music on that list.
Producer Gary Usher released a lot of “surf” records and Glenn Campbell played on a number of them. Maybe he’s the real king of the surf guitar.
I’ll be danged, this lil’ Japanese girl has a lot of videos at youtube playing Ventures types of songs.
