FULL TITLE: Girl Scout membership plummets for second straight year losing more than 100,000 members
For the second straight year, youth and adult membership in the Girl Scouts has dropped sharply, intensifying pressure on the 102-year-old youth organization to find ways of reversing the trend.
According to figures provided to The Associated Press, the total of youth members and adult volunteers dropped by 6 per cent over the past year — from 2,994,844 to 2,813,997.
Over two years, total membership is down 11.6 per cent, and it has fallen 27 per cent from a peak of more than 3.8 million in 2003.

That’s a shame.
I have a theory that the most queers and lesbians have the most control in the states that have the most athletic and attractive kids.
My high school track and swimming coaches were flaming.

I pass their fund-raising college kids on the streets of Boston once a week. I always say something to them, but I'm running out of ideas.
I'm open to suggestions.
I think it really just has to do with single-parent families just not having the time/resources to get all their kids to sports or scouting, etc. They have cell phones/internet to occupy their time.
They can’t mandate Girl Scouts without some equivalent group for boys, and they still hate the Boy Scouts.
And there are too many alternative organizations to choose from to mandate one.

No it’s not in the materials. I said it that way mostly for the shock value...I was so angry with them that they needed to shut up with their petty bickering about things that only matter to women. It’s a long story and as the scoutmaster I needed it to end, lest it metastasize into something that would destroy the troop.
I needed something that would maintain a more clear picture of what the scouts were trying to create, and that was what I could come up with on the fly.
Trail Life USA membership is exploding too. After an open house, our troop doubled in size last month.
No worries....I thought I missed something. Ha Ha.

My high school English teacher and girl’s sports coach were lesbians living together.
They used to pretend to have crushes on the History teacher, a tall, blond, handsome man.
Having a homosexual brother, and being occasionally in the company of his partner and
their friends, I saw what was happening.
They were remodeling their home and would invite girls from their respective classes to
come over and help them with the job. I went once, but they saw that I was pretty savvy
about that stuff and didn’t try recruiting me.
But I have no idea how many girls that they did influence in that direction.
OBTW, it was a Catholic high school.

We left because they shifted away from camping and other practical activities to ‘friendship’ and ‘climate change’. My daughter was a tom-boy and didn’t find the girlie stuff challenging.
