Vanity: CDC Website Says Impossible to Be Certain Newark Case Not Ebola in Less than Three Days
Center for Disease Control ^

Posted on 10/06/2014 12:41:41 AM PDT by GeneralSmedleyButler

“Ebola virus is detected in blood only after the onset of symptoms, usually fever. It may take up to 3 days after symptoms appear for the virus to reach detectable levels. Virus is generally detectable by real-time RT-PCR from 3-10 days after symptoms appear.”

“Specimens ideally should be taken when a symptomatic patient reports to a healthcare facility and is suspected of having an Ebola exposure. However, if the onset of symptoms is (less than) 3 days, a later specimen may be needed to completely rule-out Ebola virus, if the first specimen tests negative.”

Let’s say you are right for a moment.

Let’s say it’s only kills 1% of the entire U.S. population.

You know how many people that would be? It would be well over 3 million people or to make it easier.

You though 911 was a BIG DEAL??? Well we lost over 3,000 on 911. This 3 million in comparison is a 1000 times larger! That’s ONLY 1%.

Look up (WHO World Health Organization) the kill ratio once you infected with Ebola. It’s as low as 70% and as high as 85%. This part is not even debated.

Quit making excuses and Hen pecking little factoids for government’s failure to protect the American citizens. How many Americans are going to have to die before they do anything???

I ask myself why this NBC photograper is being brought back to the US in the full protective bubble that the first two patients came back in?

They are landing in a remote field and will be driven 15 minutes to the secure facility in Nebraska.

Why? If you can’t catch ebola as CDC director Friedan has said, by casual contact, all of this level 4 care seems unnecessary. Doesn’t it?

How did this photograper catch Ebola?

The lady friend of Duncan who helped care for Duncan has yet to show symptoms. Neither have any of the doctors or nurses and EMT’s who cared for him. That is close, really close contact that could have involved bodily fluids.

Not to mention, the family in that apartment has been whisked off to fancy digs where they can play without media attention. They could be out running around and nobody would know who they are. That idiot lieberal judge didn’t seem to worry, did he?

Something is rotten in the State of Denmark.

BEFORE THEY STOP THE FLIGHTS AND SECURE THE BORDER???

Your government does not accept the concept of "border".

You are correct sir!

Gov. Rick Perry could do it, but he will not. He would gain A LOT of political points if he did so.

Looking at that CDC website,, I notice the ‘shipping’ requirements for submitting a sample to CDC. I don’t feel body fluids that could be positive for Ebola should be shipped as a “normal” ‘biohazard’.. These specimens are potential ‘bioweapons’.....

There is a lot of potential for missteps for so many stages during the handling of ‘specimens’. Are the laboratory technicians donning the proper gear while running tests?

Potentially, any ‘flu patient’ blood specimen could be suspect. A break of the blood tube in the centrifuge,,,,etc. etc...

You make many excellent points. The most interesting is why did the judge show up to this apartment without ANY protective gear? Not even a face mask?

So in the middle of flu season, during an Ebola outbreak, how do you determine which people need immediate hydration therapy, isolation and maximum care for Ebola and which ones need two aspirin and 48 hours of bed rest?

You don't.

Essentially, by the time the tests show you have it, it’s already passing the best window for you to get the care you need to survive it.

And your entire waiting room has already been exposed to it.

It's going to be an ugly winter.

Exactly! I encourage everyone to take a look at the CDC website before they scrub away that info.

Obama flat out lied to the America public about the man on that Newark plane. Isn’t lying to the public on something important an Impeachable offense or does that only apply to Richard Nixon?

Remember that Patient Zero, Thomas Eric Duncan was vomiting when the ambulance took him to the hospital, and the woman back in Liberia, who gave Duncan the ebola virus was vomiting in a taxi cab as they tried to take her to a Liberian hospital, and now this Liberian in Newark was vomiting.

I’d say that deliberately endangering American lives with an Open Borders policy just to draw in more Democrat voters from needy Third World countries should be grounds for Impeachment.

Ebola has been mainly in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia.

There is a different strain of ebola showing up in the Congo.

Nigeria has had a few dozen cases show up. For some reason, people seem to be fleeing to there. I would guess most Liberians can’t afford a plane ticket to the US.

Curiously, the nation of Kenya has put a ban on any people from the ebola countries traveling to Kenya. Seems like the people running Kenya are smarter than the Kenyan running the US.

That’s old information that anyone could look up. Obama assumes no one will check on this, and the liberal media won’t call him a liar.

That Liberian in Newark was on a plane for hours while he developed symptoms, which means (if it is ebola) he would be contagious.

A test in Canada found that ebola could be spread in a sealed room (much like an airplane?) between animals in cages separated from each other.

The good Doctor Freidan was out this morning saying that Duncan is still in critical condition, but they hope for full recovery. Seems that “critical” with Ebola is right before death. He also said there was no ZMapp left to give him. Even weirder is that one report that Duncan is dead. Geesh, where are the doctors from the hospital in Dallas coming out for a daily status briefing about Duncan and the possible staff exposure? Those things we are used to expecting, but not this time.

Remember when they brought the first two back from Africa with extreme caution? They said there were only a few hospitals in the nation prepared and equipped with level 4 protection. This place in Dallas isn’t one of them. Why is Duncan not being whisked off to Atlanta or Nebraska?

So, what will this NBC photograper get going to a prepared for it hospital in Nebraska. Maybe ZMapp? The photog guy has roots libs love.

They keep up the crap about not shutting borders or it will get worse. Uh huh, right.

I think you are mixing up stages.

They are saying 3 days AFTER SYMPTOMS appear it may be testable.

The 21 days you mention is the possible INCUBATION stage BEFORE symptoms.

They did say this news reporter was talking and walking on his own.

I got a feeling if you have deep enough pockets or enough juice they will miraculously find some ZMapp

You are comparing apples in your estimation, though.

Africa does not even have the culture of cleanliness that we have, much less the best medical system in the world, bar none. That backdrop to the problem is apples and oranges.

I am not saying we must not insist on caution with these PC morons in government, but America’s situation is not the same as Africa.

As someone else posted, influenza is a killer. Do not treat it, do not disinfect, fail to treat it the best proven way, many people die. Compare it to the old days within our own country for an equivalent comparison of America now to some 3rd world dump now.

Thank.. and that was the point...

Ebola is only in 4 or 5 Africa nations .... and then the US ? Why the US no were else yet..

Does that speak volume that we as a nation are no longer acting with the basic common sense that ever other nation in the world has about this?

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Yes, but only losing 3,000,000 people won’t affect the Christmas shopping season, will it?

The United agent that I contacted this past weekend, told me that their (United’s) continuing flights to/from Ebola affected countries was because of directions coming from government/WH.
