U.S. Plans to Send Over 2,000 Troops to Kuwait [Marines]

The exact timing or locations of the deployment is unclear, but will happen some time next year.

The United States Marine Corps will send 2,100 troops to Kuwait as part of a new special unit designed to respond to crises in the region, a mission that officials claim was planned before the U.S. began conducting air strikes in the region.

The new Special-Purpose Marine Air-Ground Task Force (SPMAGTF) Central Command will be deployed in Kuwait to conduct what it calls “theater sustainment missions,” according to Brigadier General John Love, according to news reports on Monday.

It will also be equipped to perform other non-combative missions such as humanitarian assistance, infrastructure support, tactical aircraft recovery, fixed-site security and evacuations, Love announced last week at the Modern Day Marine exposition.

The exact timing of the deployment is unclear, but officials say it will happen at some point in 2015.

It also remains unclear where the troops will be deployed exactly. According to a Marine Corps spokesperson they will be based in multiple locations in the region, but will be headquartered in Kuwait.

...

Some of the special unit's combat gear will include attack aircraft, such as the AV-8B Harrier, as well as support aircraft such as the MV-22 Osprey and KC-130 Super Hercules, according to Love.

sustainment: “until mission accomplished”
That’s nice and open-ended.

When the hell is Obama going to stop putting our troops in harms way for nothing? I speak as a vet, this as$hat is less than totally worthless. I flush things more worthy then this clown every morning. It is against my religious conviction to express hate, however, I can loath and loath I do.

Rantings of an angry person.

Ground troops in Kuwait. In numbers insufficient to effect the outcome but perfect to constitute a nice, fat target. Who in pluperfect Hell thinks this is a good idea?

Don't miss this tidbit that makes it more interesting:

The division headquarters will join its 1st Brigade Combat Team in the region; the brigade deployed to Kuwait in June as part of the regular rotation of forces there.

It may be some default contingency plan.
But when the program was run, I’ll guess such things weren’t factored in as Obama’s inability to bluff/folding to other’s bluffs, along with the fact that these latest Arab lunatics are bats*** crazy, MOAB-worthy, death-loving religious squirrels.

U.S. Plans to Send Over 2,000 Troops to Kuwait [Marines]

Why?
Those delusional ingrates didn't even reimburse the U.S. for the actual cost of all the fires created by the other Hussein.

Plus they have been financing the jihadists of all stripes for at least 16 years.
