Full Title: Mississippi school says kindergartener injured herself on playground; mom believes she was attacked by student, website reports
A Pascagoula, Miss., kindergartener is recovering from injuries her school said she suffered while playing on the playground, but her mother has insisted she was attacked by another student, according to a report on GulfLive.com.
The girl's mother, Lacey Harris, filed a police report last week, and has alleged another child kicked her daughter, AvaLynn, on the slide, according to the report.
Pascagoula Police Lt. Jim Roe told the website, "Right now, there's no indication something criminal took place."

It sure looks like someone beat her pretty badly.
She must have fallen off the slide both ways.
The little Trayvons thought she looked too white.
That’s a stomp mark.
I guess this dumbass is looking at a different picture than I am.
I’d believe the child. The injuries are to both sides of the face and little ones this age are more likely to say they don’t know than risk another beat down by an angry kid.
I would agree. Definitely a stomp mark.
This does not seem consistent with falling or even “being kicked”.
....and the little Obamas
Lordy! Poor kid. :(
stomped on the face most likely.
You can BET that the local attorneys are LICKING THEIR CHOPS in anticipation of the civil suit that WILL be filed before the cat can lick her ear.
I really hope that there is a VERY warm place for people who do this to children and animals (the TRULY innocent).
I think the school should rethink its position on what happened to the daughter, because I think it’s a bigger payout if the school is trying to cover for somebody.
that is hard to believe she got that injured falling off a playground slide.
looks like someone punched her a few times. i wouldn’t take the school’s explanation at face value.
Without parental influence, I wonder what the little girl says......
Good Lord,that poor little thing.
.
The school informed Lacey (that there) were no teachers present when the incident occurred, and because of that, no one could prove whether or not another student had harmed Ava."
Because teachers are not required to supervise the children, ever. But if a parent lets their child play at the park unsupervised, criminal charges will be filed.
I have observed at my children’s school, that the playground supervisors are busy talking to each other, and are not paying attention to the children.
I hope the little girl heals, and the family is able to find the cause of her injuries.
