"She entered the eatery to demand an explanation, but says workers were not helpful. Later, she called the store and a manager reportedly confessed there'd been a mix-up. He admitted an empty vanilla syrup bottle had been left in a sink where an employee had poured toxic floor cleaner and degreaser inside."
Lawsuits coming and discovery of what the employees knew and when did they know it will be crucial.

“Another staffer picked it up, thinking it was clean, and refilled it with the syrup”
Which speaks to just how toxic these cleaning chemicals can be. An invisible amount of residue, a tiny fraction of which was used in the serving of syrup for each milkshake, was enough to nearly kill a little boy and sickened three other customers.
You never, ever put chemicals into an unmarked container or a container not designed to hold that chemical. You never put toxic chemicals into anything that will be used to hold foodstuffs, or store said chemicals near foodstuffs. Even a low-grade idiot of an employee ought to be able to figure that concept out.
Heads need to roll on this one, big time.

Looks like the "franchise owner" will be taking out another loan.
