Which speaks to just how toxic these cleaning chemicals can be. An invisible amount of residue, a tiny fraction of which was used in the serving of syrup for each milkshake, was enough to nearly kill a little boy and sickened three other customers.
You never, ever put chemicals into an unmarked container or a container not designed to hold that chemical. You never put toxic chemicals into anything that will be used to hold foodstuffs, or store said chemicals near foodstuffs. Even a low-grade idiot of an employee ought to be able to figure that concept out.
Heads need to roll on this one, big time.
I know how to stop these type of “accidents” from happening again, raise the minimum wage to $15.
OSHA OSHA OSHA and properly labeled bottles with MSDS sheets available for all. I made a living for years helping companies be OSHA compliant and avoid fines.
I thought OSHA was to protect the workers. They have a problem protecting their customers.
He admitted an empty vanilla syrup bottle had been left in a sink where an employee had poured toxic floor cleaner and degreaser inside.
Accident my A$$! What kind of irresponsible management and piss poor training went on there. I was in the business for many years and trust me if nothing else there is a very distinct difference in the smell of a caustic cleaner and and a syrup that not only has flavor but scent of vanilla. I hope the child recovers soon and fully but someone is lying their ass off here.

Quite often. Not so often when there are multiple, unrelated victims and the restaurant has admitted what they did wrong.
