I admit it, I'm hooked on following the news. I look at World News to check on our Israeli friends, I have ongoing concerns about affairs in the Ukraine. I'm concerned about Ebola and it's poor management. I'm frustrated about Common Core being pushed in our schools, but hopeful in can be removed, now that more are paying attention. I did not have fun reading about Ferguson. However, sometimes, I need a break from the hard news. I deliberately step off that broken down carousel of never ending events. Times like these, I may turn to something lighter and totally inconsequential. I turn to Disney or Cartoon Network, or in some cases PBS for lighter fare. I won't even use the excuse that I was taking care of my young nieces and nephews and the channel just so happened to land on a kid's stations. I did it myself. Sometimes 'tricks' are NOT just for kids".
I like some of the situation comedies. By the time I see them, they may have already been canceled long before. I don't have a TV, and only use them once in a while while visiting a friends family, or just digging into Youtube for free. I like the show Jesse, with actress Debbie Ryan. It's a fun show. All the actors seem to be into charcter, both in reciting their lines and in facial expression, body language and voice tonality. They go easy on the canned laughter. It's hard to teach someone how to become that character if they don't already have the ability to let go who they are and be someone else, who probably doesn't even exist. Even the small children are good. I like that they are funny without being too rude or too mean. There is one that I do not like. It's called Dog with a Blog. The little girl on that show runs the house and chastises her parents like a drill sargent when she can't get her way. Both Mom and Dad are dumbells; cases of being 35 y/o and wishing they were 15 y/o. Then acting accordingly.
I've seen Curious George for years. I now understand a bit more why this cartoon is so popular with kids. The cartoon has soothing light jazz played in the background. George helps kids learn how to get out of difficult situations. George prizes friendship and kindness to other animals, including humans.
I just learned about the Kratt Brothers. This a a very well illustrated cartoon series about these two brothers who explore, change their size, talk to the animals, and sometimes even save the animals. The Kratts, in real life modeled on brothers Chris and Martin also teach kids how to get out of unusual and potentially hazardous situations. The twist here is the Kratts use modern technology mixed with science fiction type gadgetry to complete their 'missions'.
Two other good shows that have been recently canceled would be "Ant Farm" and Good Luck Charlie. Good Luck Charlie is another show where all the actors seem to believe in their character. The Mom and Dad get along, are believable as a couple, and there is not a lot of gratuitous male bashing. There are some shows where the secondary actors outshine the so called stars, because they are less stiff and show various faucets of personality.
I find pretty much all kids networks push the lib agenda.
Sometimes you have to go In-sane to Out-sane the sane. Know what I’m sane-ing?

The REIGN INSANE (Obama), stays mainly on the (Middle-Class American Taxpayer) plains.

Love “Regular Show”. Not something I watch all the time, but when I do, I always end up laughing at it.

Re Curious George: My kids liked the monkey (they’re kind of outgrowing him now, at age 8) but it always seemed to me the Man in the Yellow Hat was OBVIOUSLY a flamer. Also I assume he has a trust fund since he has both a swanky city apartment (tastefully furnished in “retro” style) and a lovely little house in the country, and yet he never does a day’s work. ;)
I never thought about the full picture concerning The Man In Yellow, but one is left to reach their own conclusions. Mellow Yellow Man always stays in uniform, both day and night.
