Who imagined that the Obama administrations effort to make school lunches more nutritious (but less delicious) would encourage children to become little community organizers?
The U.S. Agriculture Department has found an upside to all those healthy school lunches that students refuse to eat: It says schools can use the plate waste as a learning opportunity to turn young students into civic-minded, community-conscious adults.

Schools should be forced to display signs in the cafeteria ... Todays Lunch is Brought to You By, Barack Obama’s Wife ... forever till the menus are to the little one’s liking.
It’s quite true, since the average tax-paying American citizen is constantly called upon by the government to eat sh*t.
But, let them try to have a bake sale with home made goods and the FDA will stomp all over them.
Or make pink cookies with more than the preferred amount of butter.
kinda funny this shelf ass mule of a woman the mooch is telling us all how to eat?
She of the king sized ass?
We need the Feral government out of education all together as the ones on a mission so to speak have all but destroyed it. Local school Boards, Parents, and Principals should have all say in lunches. This is quickly becoming Compliance Indoctrination to shut up and thank the king for your government approved gruel policies.
When my students complain about school lunches I look at it as a teachable moment on the evils of big government liberalism.
The essence of liberalism is that you are too stupid to make decisions and the government needs to decide for you.
If there’s a civics lesson here, it’s in the benefits of a constitutional republic and what happens when you neglect it and let the federal government assume powers they weren’t legitimately authorized to have.
A local mom in Illinois runs a “Speakeasy” blog in which she gave out the pink cookie recipe.
Back in the early 1960âs when I started first grade my mom was in charge of my nutritional needs. School lunch was available but she knew what I would eat and would not. So mom packed me balanced meals of a sandwich {Bologna of the day which was better processed safe to eat and actually tasted good} or two, fruit, a small bag of chips, and some juice instead of the schools lukewarm milk. She counted on my breakfast and supper as being meals where missing nutrition would be made up for. School meals did not improve until high school where we had a choice in what we ate. The school also had a sandwich line. PB&J sold well except for Friday which was Burger day. Is there really a more balanced quick meal than a burger, baked fries, or meat vegetable soup?
I'd love to see those cookies being sold decorated with the "resistance" symbol in the icing.
Oh, dear, it was a mom in Ohio - where the cookies were banned. Still waiting for a coffee delivery!
Agreed.
I am not so sure he was reelected short of massive voter fraud, but she was not elected to anything.
I truly think we have lost the cultural war: The fact is they can make up any lie they want and people believe it.
The question becomes whether there will be a shooting war that follows the cultural war. Given the militarization of the government, the other side thinks there will be a shooting war.
The first thing a cult will do with a new member is control the diet to make them more susceptible to the cult thinking.
Thanks for the ping!
