But am I making clear that the police set the stage

NONSENSE!!!

Whatever the police may have done wrong in no way justifies rioting, arson, burglary and robbery. If police misconduct "sets the stage" for a particular community to commit riot, arson, burglary, and robbery of private businesses, then that community is pathological, is a threat to all its neighbors, and must be eliminated in self defense.

Choose your response carefully ... these rioters differ from HAMAS, ISIS, etc. only in that the latter are better armed.

bump
The cops might have been in the wrong shooting the gangster punk, but that had nothing to do with the riots. The riots are a totally separate CRIME and should be treated as such.

Police seem to be pretty trigger happy these days. We live about 75 miles away from St Louis, in a small town. Our community is 97% white.

We have had more than our share of police being called to help relatives with an unruly individual and that person winding up dead. People are quite upset, but we don’t have a stinkin’ riot over it.

These are just thugs using an excuse to do what thugs do. Upset with the police? Take it to the police station, your alderman etc. Don’t take it out on the local yokel just trying to make a living.

Whatever wrong the police have done, is no excuse for this behavior. Two wrongs don’t make a right. Police who are wrong need to be punished, and rioters and looters need to be punished. Neither behavior excuses the other.

One must take all police shooting reports from all sides with a very large grain of salt. Getting to the truth of the matter is very very difficult, and neither the police (and their unions) nor those who get shot (and their relatives) seem to have any incentive to tell the 100% straight story.

Also, the cops now all have these automatic pistols with as many as 14-15-round magazines in order to stay even with more heavily armed perps. But this also means that in the heat of the action sometimes literally hundreds of rounds can be fired by just a few cops. Usually, not good results.

In ye olden days, when the cops were using DA revolvers with deliberately heavy trigger pulls, and only 6 shots available before reload, there was not as much lead in the air.

In this Ferguson shoot, we'll just have to wait for more evidence as to who did what to whom, and when.

In general, both sides embellish, and the real truth lies somewhere in between. I hate the militarization of our police. I hate that so much lead flies, and I hate it when people die.

I hate just as much looters trying to use this as an excuse to do what they wanted to do anyway. I also hate the organizers behind the so called spontaneous riots.

We saw this in the 60s often enough. Black Panthers and Commuinist agitators were hoping to start a race war. Our institutions and churches were too strong then. Remains to be seen if we can survive such stuff again.

I’m not saying the police actions justified what came after, but those actions certainly provoked what came after.

What does it say about a certain "community" that serious misconduct by POLICE causes that "community' to commit rioting, arson, looting, burglary, and robbery of PRIVATE BUSINESSES?

What sort of pathological creatures behave that way? Why do we tolerate such behavior in what's supposed to be a civilized society?
