INDIANAPOLIS - An eye-opening art exhibit on gun violence is about to open at the Central Library downtown.
Artist James Pate and exhibit organizers expect the art to spark some serious conversations because of what it shows.
"It just makes you think a little bit and sparks your thought process," said Chaz Holder.
Holder is one of a group of Crispus Attucks High School students who got a first look at the provocative exhibit. The students' visit was also training for grown-ups who will serve as exhibit tour guides.
"The hope is to engage the youth in the community in acknowledging the harsh reality of gun violence," said one of the adult guides.
The exhibit, called "Kin Killing Kin," depicts deadly gun violence involving young black males, in some cases, dressed up like the Ku Klux Klan.

Blaks have killed far more blacks than the KKK ever thought of.
New? Hasn’t the Left been pushing this drivel for near a century now? The KKK was the military arm of the Democratic Party. The most racist Democrats I’ve ever known are Chicago Democrats.
Blacks have killed more whites than the kkk killed blacks if we kept count.
There was a cartoon about the fear blacks felt driving through the rural south in the 1950s. Maybe in 40 years they can do one for whites driving through urban areas at night.
Sometimes you have to read to them from the book. Other times you just have to show them the pictures.
“It doesn’t really make sense, because what I thought it was, was whites killing blacks,” Holder said.
Wow. If those Indianapolis ‘hood kids thought whites were anywhere near the predominant murderers of blacks, what to make of that? Who planted that in their heads, and how? That dumb kid must have been locked up in his basement since birth.
Blacks have killed far more blacks than the KKK ever thought of.
And the welfare state (the Dim party) has destroyed more black lives than the KKK could have dreamed of.
Did you find those color images in the exhibit? I did not see them there, only black and white.
If a black artist is really trying to open black kids eyes, we should encourage it.

Between 1882 and 1968, there were 3446 total lynchings. 5 times more blacks are killed IN A SINGLE YEAR by other blacks in this country.

This exhibit is specifically about black on black shooting. Not sure I agree with linking the KKK to it, but it seems like a step in the right direction. IMO
