Was recently at my physician’s office. An obese young woman came in wearing short shorts, a halter top and the obligatory flip flops. Surely she knew it was not a good look for her, but she didn’t care. That is the reason for the trashy appearance of those who cause us to avert our eyes in public places.
You just described a young mother I recently saw in a waiting room, only in addition to a similar manner of dress, she was slurping some kind of slushy thing.
The two kids in tow were around ages 5 and 7. Each had a bag of chips, wandering around the room, munching away and leaving crumb trails (never mind all the "No Food or Drink" signs).
The kids were still normal weight, but with the have-no-respect-for-yourself-or-others, pay-no-attention-to-rules-and-decorum, snack-no-matter-where-you-are learned lifestyle, that'll change in short order. Ugh.
You can thank “Honey Boo Boo” and her family for that.
Don't knock flip flops. I wear thin soled flip flops (not the $1 plastic ones) because they give me the extra freedom for toe grip needed for balance. I can't feel what I'm walking on and lose my balance with closed in shoes with thick soles. I drive barefooted and am barefooted at home. Gardening is done barefooted for stability.
