The political arm of the Planned Parenthood abortion business says it will spend as much as $3 million in Texas to elect pro-abortion gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis and other pro-abortion candidates.
Cecile Richards, the president of Americas biggest abortion corporation was in the Lone State State to push her plan.
Cecile Richards, president of the national advocacy group Planned Parenthood Votes, said the effort aims to draw differences between Democrat Wendy Davis and Republican Greg Abbott, the state attorney general, in the campaign for governor.
wendydavis12When women have a chance to know the difference between candidates, they wont vote for someone who is against them, Richards told the San Antonio Express-News.
Joe Pojman, executive director of Texas Alliance for Life, said it will be difficult for anti-abortion groups to keep pace with Planned Parenthoods spending. According to state data, the states two largest anti-abortion groups, Texas Right to Life and Texas Alliance for Life, have spent about $450,000.
This is a wake-up call for us, and Im sure for other pro-life organizations, Pojman said.
Planned Parenthoods push is similar to its efforts in other states. The group spent nearly $2.5 million in the 2013 Virginia governors race, helping a Democrat unseat a Republican, and plans to spend $3 million in a North Carolina U.S. Senate race.

But Pojman questioned Planned Parenthoods ability to rally votes in big numbers in Texas
Planned Parenthood doesnt have the grass roots to energize in the same way the pro-life movement can, Pojman said.
Davis was recently caught exaggerating her campaign fundraising numbers and her supporters are unable to come up with a single legislative accomplishment of hers apart from filibustering the bill to ban late-term abortions.
Cool, the more money they throw down that black hole, the better.
Announcing that they are going to spend the money and actually spending the money are two different things.
You beat me to it.
I am all for liberal groups giving money to Abortion Barbie's losing campaign. The more the better.
I thought it was illegal for organizations that receive tax dollars to use them for campaigning?
Or is that only for Republicans?
Institutionalized corruption.
good, that’s 3 million they will waste
$3 million tax dollars
They are showing up at the city’s dog parks. I saw one yesterday. I laughed at her. Was hoping my dog would piss on her, but he didn’t want to waste good piss.
lol
That was not an accomplishment, she failed.
Desperate? No. $3M is only 50,000 abortions - a drop in the bucket to Planned Parenthood as a national organization. If their bet on Abortion Barbie pays off, they’ll make back many times their investment.
But she successfully caused the state to waste several hundred thousand dollars calling a special session of the legislature to pass the same bill that she filibustered.
She also succeeded in calling attention to herself and becoming a darling to the far left, which was her only objective anyway.
“Look at me! Look at me!” is a great accomplishment, and people think this country is a cesspool...
How do we get access to their books? What “political arm” of PP are they referring to?
After losing in Texas, I suspect Wendy will head for a more favorable location for her next try.
Sandy Fluke was at least smart enough to leave Penna and go to California to run for office.
