As President Reagan said, “Freedom is only one generation awry from extinction.”
The government school propagandists know this. Parents try to ignore the deadly sabotage of their values that takes place seven hours every day, falsely labeled as “education.”

Anyone who desires to subject children to a sexually charged curriculum, from kindergarten through grade twelve, is a pornogogue – maybe a nice pornogogue, a deluded pornogogue, a daft pornogogue – and that person with a depraved imagination is going to do what he or she is going to do.

Just one part of a so-far really excellent read. Wow.

That was originally the reason for Catholic schools - Catholics did not like what was being taught in the public schools. However, the system relied on the teaching orders, and when they collapsed (for a variety of reasons, although Vatican II was probably the most prominent among them) the schools became much harder to maintain and lost their Catholic identity.

Never has there been a time when Catholic (or other Christian) schools were more necessary, and unfortunately, only a few of the Catholic religious orders seem to realize this. It’s a pity. If they want to be “counter cultural,” they shouldn’t do it by sprinkling blood on US military installations (something our former bishop used to go out to do with some elderly former teaching sisters) but by building Christian schools and environments.

The time is fast coming when a Catholic - or Orthodox or some Protestants - won’t be able to let their kids go to public school.

When I had to take sex ed it wasn’t like it is today. It was NOT about sex and putting condoms on bananas and talking about how wonderful homosexual experiences are.

Aside from the biological act it was a pretty gruesome display of STDs. There was nothing sexual about it.

Parents, you do a disservice to your children if you are not home schooling them or have them enrolled in a conservative, religious school.

Of COURSE it’s not cheap. But they ARE your kids and your responsibility.

That’s ok, the schools that MY CHILDREN go to WOULD NEVER do anything like he’s talking about. Why they’re the salt of the Earth, I even see one of the teachers in the supermarket once in a while...they’re really JUST LIKE you and me. I have nothing to worry about because my kids are perfectly safe in their public schools (and, anyway, I don’t want to waste my money on private schools when I could be saving up for that boat).

^^How FReepers still rationalize sending their kids to public school, even after reading everything posted here.^^

We started homeschooling our eldest in 1992. Knew then that government schools were evil.

My wishes are with Dr. Tourloukis, and though I'm only a summer visitor to Canada, I think the law is on his side

We could only hope.

The government had no problem putting on a Child Sex Exhibit in Toronto and bussing the school kids to it.

ANOTHER REASON TO HOMESCHOOL

This ping list is for the “other” articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)

The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
