Agreed. Once went to pick up a pizza I had ordered. There were four other people waiting all four were texting or playing some kind of game. No one looked up when I came in, didn’t look up till their name was called. Felt like a nightmarish sci-fi movie, normal looking people taken over by a small machine. Cell phones should be outlawed.
....normal looking people taken over by a small machine.
It’s pretty disgusting.

What are they supposed to do? Say hello and strike up a conversation? This ain’t the 1800’s. Everyone gives everyone space, as it should be. In restaurants especially here in L.A., I’m not rude enough to whip out my cell once during the dinner. I converse which is different from waiting for a pizza you pre-ordered.
Order delivery next time.
It’s a strange kind of need for constant entertainment, I just don’t get it. No one can seem to just sit quietly and think anymore.
Do you own one?
What do you want them to do while they wait for their pizza? Glare at you?
I tend to call in my pizza order and time my arrival for when it's likely to be ready.
