So the Salvation Army fails to crack into the top 35 yet again.

North Korea is last on the list? How can that be? Look out pretty Kimmie's solders are...

The military behind the Salvation Army is the most powerful in the universe. :)

In other words, we could cut the defense budget by about $230 billion and still be spending three times as much as the next country on the list. Wouldn’t a mere DOUBLING of the spending be enough?

But they’re first in subs...on paper anyway.

The idea of a Nork submarine is kind of frightening. Considering they're incapable of manufacturing nearly anything, I've got to think they spend a significant amount of time raising them off the bottom of the ocean floor.

How is it that South Korea is ranked lower than Germany? SK outclasses Germany in every category except manpower and budget, and it’s not far off on those. SK’s military is generally equipped with first world technology and the quality of their soldiers is top shelf.

no country is even close to our budget, nor our number of aircraft and aircraft carriers... and we are a close second in nuclear warheads and subs...

i would not want that... less man power? i do not want to cut a thing... with all the spending our government does, the military is where it makes sense to me... to be able to have this military, i support being taxed...

with all that being said, i find your question valid... i just wonder what it would mean for our military...

The Norks must have a lot of subs on permanent sea floor duty.

You can call some nation “powerful” on paper. But, in actual combat that is different. When was the LAST TIME France WON anything???? India a world military power? They may have a lot of hardware, but when did they use military force for anything? When was the last time India was in ground combat against another nation???? These rankings are paper. They do not prove anything until you see that military in actual combat and PROVE their worth. Look at all the billions we wasted on the Iraq army. Training, time, money, equipment, etc. and when the first battle came, they turned tail and ran home to mama. France is giving their nation away from within to the Muzzies. Same for the UK. Same for Europe as a whole.

They left the surface ships off the list. I guess a country’s navy doesn’t count for anything.

RE: When was the LAST TIME France WON anything????

They did win the French Revolution. But I’m not sure that counts as they were fighting themselves.

As for India, they did get into a few skirmishes with Pakistan over Kashmir back in the ‘70’s I believe (but with no clear victor).

I would doubt the spending power of our defense dollars is equivalent to other countries, especially China.

After we pay union wages, bloated prices for toilet seats and transgender operations I’d say we’d be lucky to be equal in purchasing power

WW2 proved that. Beyond carriers, nothing mattered.
