LOUISVILLE, Ky. A Louisville mother faces charges after police said she left her 3-month-old baby in the middle of a west Louisville street.
Police said witnesses saw Dunia Abdullahi lay the child, who was wearing nothing but a diaper, in the middle of Cecil Avenue.
Abdullahi, 20, told police she was upset with the baby's father because he was not willing to take her to the emergency room for an illness and left her in the road to wait for her father, the arrest report stated.
According to the arrest report, witnesses said they tried to pick up the baby after Abdullahi went inside a home, but she came back out and aggressively told them to leave the baby alone.
Witnesses took a picture of the baby lying in the street and called police, according to the report. The photo showed the baby laying about 5 feet from the curb in the street. The temperature at the time was 87 degrees and the pavement temperature hotter.

Abdullahi
sounds amish
“Dunia Abdullahi”
A beheading/stoning in her future?
On the video she says “this is how we do it in Africa” when asked why she left the baby in the street.
Watch the video!!! not kidding.
That baby could have a home with me right now. What is wrong with these people?
Well then by gosh and by golly she has her rights. Just because she came to America from Africa is no reason she should have to give up her culture to conform to ours.
Then I say “go back to Africa!”.
Hopefully she’ll lose custody of the poor kid.
That’s nothing...while in India last year, I saw a naked toddler just feet away from roaring traffic while his mom washed clothes in a road-side puddle.
Tells you everything you need to know...
Watch the video!!! Seriously everyone watch the video!!! She says she is from Africa and this is what they do!
Are there any African FReepers here who can tell us if what the woman in this story says is true????
while his mom washed clothes in a road-side puddle.....Did she use Oxeycleen?..Yes?,,, WELLLLL, alrighty, then!!
West Louisville
As Benny Hill would say “Just outside of Wedlock”
Some of what I’ve read about Africa says that children are treated very casually ... if they live, they live, but if they don’t ... well, what could you do?
It’s interesting that the mother was not capable, or didn’t consider herself capable, of getting medical care for her child. This is a real risk for children of immigrants, especially from the most primitive source countries. She had no idea that if her baby was really sick, she could walk into a drugstore or corner emergency clinic, and someone would do something.
I remember taking a son with croup to our nearby Urgent Care clinic. The receptionist heard his breathing, and a nurse was there to take him for evaluation before I even reached the counter.
Yes, but to her credit, it was a CLEAN diaper. So there's that.
Who dressed this reporter at this network ???
The women reporting in studio looked like she just stopped by to do a report after shopping at Kmart...or running some errands...
Africa is two and a half times larger than the US, with over 4,000 different tribes and clans, and as many languages.
Some places do, some don’t.
This is how we do it in America.
At the end - “That’s how they do it in Africa.”
