Partially because I don't need to deal with issues like this.
But mostly because I can go for weeks at a time without hearing the F-word, or other crudities, in polite, public conversation. Not because I'm a prude - I know both the language and the tune - but because profanity on a regular basis merely becomes boring and unimaginative.
As someone who rides the Boston transit system reguarlarly and the NYC subway quite often I learned long ago that regardless of how crowded the car might be a guy's *very* wise to always know where his hands are and his "frontal area" is.Just in case!

I'm known as the straight laced one in my family because my position is that there's no thought that can't be communicated without profanity.It's just the way I was brought up...to at least *pretend* to have a bit of class.
