You don't feel sorry for Don Mattingly. He manages a financial bully, and no one likes financial bullies in baseball. The Dodgers didn't just start spending more than every other team, they made a point to be proud of it and remind us every third day. They had a We're The New Yankees debutante ball, and everyone who attended got a gift bag with an iPad in it. There are 500 different baseball people you should feel sorry for before Mattingly.
In this article, I will attempt to make you feel sorry for Don Mattingly.

Donnie Baseball just doesn’t look right in a Dodgers Uniform.
Dodger great Bob Welch passed away today. He represents the Dodger team that was easy to like. He also more than made up for the loss of Tommy John to the Dark Side.
Welch pitched complete games, going 8 and 9 innings regularly, unlike the generation that gets spasms if they are asked to throw the ball over the plate more than 100 times.
If I was coaching today with yesterday’s players, I would send Vic Davalillo and Manny Mota up first and second, with orders to foul off pitches until the opposing pitchers arms fell off. They could do it, too.
There’s always a batting coach job for Don up in SF if that LA thing doesn’t work out.
I’m a Dodger fan.
Mattingly is not a good manager. He never should have been made Dodger manager in the first place. Torre’s contract apparently called for it.
He should not have been given the extension after pulling that prima Donna stunt after the season was over.
He pulled the public hissy fit after the season was over.
And now how does he expect his players to not act the petulant prima Donna after he himself did it to get his extension.
I like Donnie Baseball.
I don’t know about that. My Giants are doing quite well this season. :=)
Makes me wonder what they have Bam-bam doing now.
Sorry but I’m not feeling it —
As a Giants fan, I think he’s doing a great job.
