A damned shame. I heard an interview with Joel on the radio this morning. The interviewer asked Joel the hard question about his stand on homosexuality. Joel sidestepped the question. Can’t be judgemental or condemn the sin - it would be bad for ratings.
The old gospel approach... get people to know the Lord, then He will automatically with power show and help them a better way to live... is really WEAK isn’t it? No, we got to HELP the Lord with our self efforts!
If self effort could bring down this plague of homoism, it would have done so long ago. SOMETHING BETTER IS NEEDED.
He’s orthodox, yet he is choosing his battles.
It would be but I dont really focus on a lot of those things, Osteen said. I try to stay in my lane of what I feel called to do. [The topic] does come up in interviews and things thats not my core message.
Osteen explained that his core message is helping people let go of their pasts, reach their dreams, have a healthy self-image and raise good children. While homosexuality is part of addressing life issues, the pastor said he doesnt want to be defined by his views on the issue.
Everybodys welcome, but my take on it is, you know, its easy to make one issue to become known for that or to let it side track your message, he said. If you look at our congregation .. we all have issues, everybodys on a journey.
