Prostate cancer could be a sexually transmitted disease caused by a common infection passed on during intercourse, scientists are claiming.
Research by the University of California found a sex infection called trichomoniasis supported cancer growth when a team of scientists tested human prostate cells in a laboratory.
Trichomoniasis is the most common non-viral sexually transmitted infection and is understood to have infected an estimated 275 million people around the world.

Another plot by women to insure they outlive men!
and you get breast cancer from too much foreplay.
“Living causes dying”
well played, well played.
This is really badly written. I have no idea what kind of experiments they are trying to describe.
Have to look this up in PubMed, I guess.
Trichomonis could indeed be the culprit. It is present in almost all vagina’s and does not cause hardly any symptoms in females. But Tricho loves to live and breed in male prostate. Prostate has this extremely nutritious environment of sperm sustaining fluids and germs love to live there. Males who get frequent prostate symptoms such as frequent urge to urinate, and enlarged prostate would be safer wearing condoms unless of course you are trying to make a baby.

no need, mon cheri, I can explain it to you.
people are much more inclined to take a pill if it involves not having to restrict sexual activities. so, if they can convince people prostrate cancer is from sex and will be greatly slowed down with a pill, they’ll take it.
and the drug profits continue.
Very insightful. And probably very right.
A viral vector has long been suspected.
If so, and as squirm-inducing as the notion might sound, a trans-urethral dose of a strong antibiotic might prove beneficial in greatly reducing prostate cancer.
I suspect this isn’t the whole picture, though. Is there any sort of research that would tie behavior to incidence of prostate cancer? Are highly sexually active heterosexual males that much more prone? Everyone I’ve known who has had it has been married for decades and unless they just have me fooled, not prone to straying.
Prostate enlargement itself occurs due to DHT, dihydrotestosterone, which increases with age as free testosterone decreases. DHT is largely responsible for male pattern baldness as well.
Sounds like Laz is a goner.
HPV is linked to cervical cancer in women. I’m not surprised to read they are studying a viral link to prostate or other cancers.
HPV has been known to cause testicular and oral cancers in men. It was an inconvenient truth that was suppressed when Big Pharma and politicos were trying to spin the HPV vaccine as a “women’s issue”.
Great! If it’s an STD then it will be covered by Obamacare right? Right?
Trichomonas vaginalis is not a virus.
LOL...I had robotic prostate surgery in November. If my wife see’s this article she’ll make them put it back in.
STOP THAT!!
Don't spread these baseless rumors! Have you no shame?
