UK Childcare Worker Fired After Explaining Biblical Position on Homosexuality to Co-Worker

LONDON – A childcare worker has been fired for ‘gross misconduct’ after she explained the biblical position on homosexuality to her co-worker.

According to reports, Sarah Mbuyi, 30, was repeatedly asked about her beliefs over a period of several months at Newpark Childcare in Highbury after her lesbian co-worker discovered that she is a Christian. The latest discussion occurred in January, when her co-worker remarked that she was unhappy that she could not ‘marry’ her partner because of the Church’s beliefs, and stated that she thought God had nothing against homosexual behavior.

When Mbuyi replied by explaining the biblical position on the matter, she was reported to her boss.

“When I said ‘No, God does not condone the practice of homosexuality, but does love you and says you should come to Him as you are’, she became emotional and went off to report me to my manager,” Mbuyi stated in a press release.

“I never ever condemned her, or accused her, but when she asked me directly what I believed, I was open about sharing the Bible’s teaching that homosexual sex (not the people) is wrong,” she continued. “It’s clear that this offended her and she was determined to get me sacked, simply because I expressed traditional Christian beliefs.”

Mbuyi was then asked to attend a disciplinary hearing where she was confronted with her co-worker’s accusations. However, she said that some of the claims were false, such as that it was Mbuyi who had initiated discussions about homosexuality with her co-worker.

“My disciplinary hearing was hopelessly one-sided because they put my accuser’s claims to me as fact, without any forewarning and so I wasn’t prepared,” Mbuyi stated. “It seemed to me they had already made up their minds to justify sacking me, before hearing my side of the story.”

If she were a Muslim the lesbian co-worker would have been fired.

Religious freedom is becoming non-existent in the West.

The left seeks always to institutionalize subjectivity as the standard. The effect as well as the motive is to do away with free speech and free exercise of religion. Inevitably, the standard becomes not what would offend a reasonable man but what subjectively agitates a member of the minority currently selected as the flavor of the week.

Once the left instills a test of subjectivity, it control speech, behavior and culture. We see this on the political level in Europe and we see it in our college campuses in the USA. We see it beginning in our political level in the USA when, for example, members of the Black Congressional Caucus are trotted out to winge about how much they are offended by some imagined slight. We are expected to pass legislation to compensate.

This trend will only increase because it works. The more it is institutionalized the more the left controls speech and the more it is selectively applied. The more it is applied, the more those claiming offense will raise the bar.

Blasphemy laws are alive and well in the UK.

If you don't toe the homosexual, pro-Muslim agenda, you will be punished as a heretic.

If you plan on discussing personal beliefs in the workplace these days, you’d better know your audience.

There’s a tranny at work, and I won’t even sit in the same meeting room with him (it/her). Waaay too creepy.

...unless you belong to one of the left's protected class of "victims",then you can just about say and do whatever you want.Any disciplinary action against you then would be "bigoted".....

We are headed down a road to the Bible being banned by secular government as a document full of hate speech. Sinners do not respect God and they are uncomfortable in the presence of those who both know God and condemn sin. Plus, the secularist sinners who covet earthly power over their fellow men cannot acknowledge a higher authority.

We are living observers of the degradation and destruction of western civilization by those who reject its values, traditions and accomplishments. A new dark age is nearing.

The biblical position on homosexuality is “they shall surely be put to death”. Threatening homicidal violence against a co-worker is a sackable offence if ever there was one!

More on the story:

A Christian nursery worker is taking her former employers to court claiming she was sacked for her beliefs after refusing to read stories about gay couples to children.

Sarah Mbuyi says she was dismissed due to religious discrimination, having also been accused of “harassing” a lesbian colleague to whom she gave a Bible when she was recovering from an accident.

Miss Mbuyi, 30, who lives in north London, carries a Bible. She started work for Newpark Childcare, a London-based group of four nurseries, last April, before being taken on full-time in one of the schools in September.

The same month a lesbian worker also joined the nursery, in Shepherd’s Bush, west London. After discovering that Miss Mbuyi was Christian she repeatedly asked her about her beliefs, the tribunal will be told.

Miss Mbuyi, now working at another nursery, will claim her colleague sought to provoke her. In December the co-worker spent time in hospital having had an accident at work and Miss Mbuyi gave her a Bible on her return.

The present, Miss Mbuyi says, was as a result of the interest she had shown in her faith. It was received well, she insists.

The following month, however, Miss Mbuyi, a Belgian national who came to Britain six years ago, says her colleague told her she had received abuse about her sexuality from religious people in the past.

During the discussion, Miss Mbuyi says she told the woman that “if I tell you that God is OK with that I am lying to you”.

At a disciplinary meeting, her employers accused Miss Mbuyi of “harassing” her co-worker, saying such behaviour amounted to “gross misconduct”. The co-worker could not be reached for comment.

Her employers inquired how she would feel if she was asked to read children’s storybooks featuring same-sex parents. She replied that she would not be able to read such books.

The biblical position is that the practice, the behavior, is abomination.

The ‘position’ you quote is in The Law, given to Israel. Thankfully, Christ has fulfilled the Law. This does not reduce the magnitude of the transgression of homosexual behaviors.

Christianity says that partakers of homosexual behavior will Not see the kingdom of God.

In no way will a Christian say that a homosexual should be killed. However, it IS telling that the Word of God describes the behavior as being worthy of death.
