Many years ago I was a drag racer with a car fast enough to need a chute. I saw mine and others fail on a few occasions. I remember saying to myself.....self, we ain’t never gonna jump out of an airplane with one of those things.

This wasn't your average weekend parachuter. Arkady Shenker wore a special suit that allowed him to "enhance" his gliding experience before pulling the suit. The investigation is pending but it's possible this get-up could have had something to do with the chute not deploying properly.
He was wearing the suit pictured below on Sunday. Yes, this is actually him in happier times. It sucks. Also, this New Jersey family is definitely going to have next year's Easter Egg hunt indoors.

I did a Summer Camp attached to Cutler Army Hospital at Ft Devens in the 70’s.One day,when returning from chow I saw a chopper taking off from the front lawn of the hospital.Turns out they had just dropped off a bird Colonel from the Natick Labs (and Army research and testing facility) about 20 miles from Devens.Turns out he was testing a parachute that failed to open.They took him directly to the morgue.
