Her parents may have been denied a chance to visit Justina Pelletier on Easter Sunday, but that hasn’t stopped hundreds of supporters from sending the teenager “Get Well” cards.
Justina is the sick teenager who state officials wrongfully took custody of away from her parents. The family will not be allowed to visit their daughter on Easter Sunday. The news comes after attorneys working with her family released a letter Justina reportedly wrote saying she is not being treated well.
justinapelletier11Today, her sister Jennifer will join her parents for their scheduled weekly visit with Justina. Jennifer will attempt to hand deliver a mountain of “Get Well” cards to Justina from supporters.
Mat Staver, a pro-life attorney with Liberty Counsel, has been helping the Pelletier family. He shared with LifeNews the good news that hundreds of Justina supporters have responded to the call to send her cards wishing her well.
“I have just been notified that hundreds of “Get Well” cards are on their way to Justina Pelletier. I must tell you that I am genuinely moved by the heartfelt messages that were written on the cards which the Pelletiers will receive this morning and, God willing, Justina will see later today,” he said. “How appropriate that on Good Friday, Christians from all over the nation are demonstrating Christ’s love with the caring messages contained in these cards!”
Jennifer Pelletier, Justina’s older sister, coordinated a rally for Justina in front of Boston Children’s Hospital at noon today – and the family is holding a special Easter service for Justina on Sunday.
“Justina is prohibited from attending the service. Right now this sick and frightened teenager will spend her second Easter away from her loving family because an overreaching state agency arrogantly believes they can better provide for her welfare than medical professionals and her parents,” Staver said. “Justina has been refused access to proper medical care and education. She is denied visitation by clergy, with no allowance for religious observances – including Easter and Christmas.”

“Please pray that Justina will receive her cards,” he added. “In arranging this delivery, Jennifer told us that the DCF has repeatedly refused deliveries to Justina – including flowers and balloons. The Pelletier’s weekly visits with Justina are closely guarded and monitored by the DCF. We are praying that Jennifer can deliver the cards.”
“We are working to have this gross abuse of the rights of the Pelletier family stopped immediately,” he concluded. “We are exhausting all legal means to get Justina returned to her family and given proper medical care in a timely manner before Justina’s health deteriorates any further.”

Something very, very sick and wrong is going on in Massachussets.
Really? This is sounding more and more like a government agency and doctors who made an initial mistake and are now prepared to kill her rather than admit their errors and liability.
Need a few thousand people to show up and take her home.
This situation is insane.
