“You and his mom, Im pretty sure.”
Got your mouth off your mom’s teet long enough to post that childish garbage? Better be careful, she might turn the lights off to the basement and you’d never find your way out.

Priceless
I know some people in the propane industry who tripled their retail price last winter.
They are going to get that photo sent to them.

It’s courteous to ping the person of whom you speak.
And it’s “water heater.” Not “hot water heater.” You don’t need to heat hot water. It’s already hot.

Sounds like a tankless job.
(Sorry, couldn’t help it. No tanks needed).

Those plumbers, you KNOW they have seen some s__t.
I have utmost respect for plumbers. Doing the jobs that I hate doing. My attempts at doing the jobs myself often end up costing as much as hiring a plumber to do them right.
Someday I’ll learn.

“Monkey” and pipe wrenches aren’t the same tool anyhow. Pipe wrenches have some slop and have grooved jaws because they are intended to grip round pipe, not flat faces. They can be used on flat faces too, but will tend to chew them up. The monkey wrench won’t chew up flat faces.

Some things plumbers do well, because they have the specific tools. But got to watch that you get a conscientious one. You shouldn’t use lead solder on potable water plumbing, for instance.

"You need to do your math again."
I do "my math" every month, every quarter and every end-of-year. Verified by "the Wife" as well.
Tankless water heaters are both less costly from a utilities used POV as well as initial cost and installation(which can/should be amortized over the length of unit operation - there may even be a "tax" break or allowance on them, worth a look see into IRS rules))
Here, we use propane tanks as our water heater and cooking is by gas - propane (hat tip to Hank Hill).
But there are electric tankless models as well.
If I was still in SOCAL I would have one installed, probably a gas model as gas is somewhat less expensive than electricity where I was. But that's just my take on things - YMMV.

My friend had a similar problem. He basically had 30 gallons of rock. His was worse though -- the water heater was in the attic, so lowering it down out of there was a major deal. His plumber was not a happy dude.
Which reminds me of some college friends way back when who had a big trash can for recycling their beer bottles. Since it was filling up too fast, they decided to smash the bottles in small pieces so they wouldn't have to empty it so often. Any idea what 40 gallons of crushed glass weighs? Unfortunately, they couldn't get a forklift into their kitchen, so they had to scoop out the glass. Fortunately there were no fatal injuries.
