Nvidia and IBM today announced a high-speed interconnect called NVLink which dramatically improves data movement between the CPU and GPU. The new technology will be integrated into Nvidias future GPUs, starting with its Pascal GPU architecture expected to be introduced in 2016, as well as IBMs future versions of its Power CPUs.

Noticed that IBM stock is up more than 6 points today. Would this be the main reason? How much of a bombshell is this in the IT world?
I think it’s a number of announcements from IBM. This NVLink reminds me of the old Microchannel bus. I don’t think the market cares too much about it.
How would it stack up to the AMD APU? I think having the GPU and CPU on the same die would be a bit more efficient.
Good, I like that stock price going up.
I would guess it would be a BIG thing in the Exascale Supercomputing world.
Shadowace would be a better source than I.
I was reading at Guru3D...a Gamers web site ....when this was dropped in the Nvidia keynote without mention of what CPU could deliver such incredible speeds.
So I did a Google to see what NVIDIA was going to talk to.
NVIDA going for Top end Supercomputing with this high speed bus.
Intel has sued NVidia off and on, then integrated graphics into its designs, this was probably inevitable, glad they found a partner.
