RIP to the second of the fat ladies to leave us. I always enjoyed that show. They enjoyed life and food and made no apologies for it.
I'm surprised she was so young; there's more surprising stuff at the link. Some good, some not so good. The article is very brief, but excerpting required per the link bot.

I liked them.
They were kind of pioneers in world of cable TV chefs.

RIP Clarissa.
She and Jennifer Paterson had a fun and educating show. No, they weren’t “much to look at” by our standards, but they lived and enjoyed life, by gawd. As we all should. I loved how they’d end a show at some prep school or dairy farm by drinking a martini and having a smoke.

Born in London, Wright studied law and became the country's youngest barrister at age 21. In her later years, she struggled with alcoholism, was eventually disbarred and became homeless in the early 1980s. After attending a recovery program, Wright and Paterson were approached by a TV producer about making a series. "Two Fat Ladies" premiered on BBC Two in 1996 and ended after Paterson's death in 1999.
What a story.

Sad to hear of her passing. RIP. They introduced me to bubble and squeak and loved their ‘streaky bacon’ references. A classy pair of birds.

Quintessentially British to the core which is why I loved them.
Delia Smith and Nigella couldn’t hold a candle to TFL.

They were they embodiment of joie de vivre. Delightful creatures of cuisine!
I loved the fact that they seemed to operate with a: *what you see is what you get* attitude. They were pre-cursors of that most overused word *passion*. No one else could make me want to try to make Bubble and Squeak with lard!
RIP Clarissa and Jennifer...ya done good.

Fat lady dies at 66 isn't surprising at all. She not only ATE badly, it's my read she exercised NOT AT ALL.
It's amazing she lasted that long. MEDS, I guess, for the fatties.
