To: who knows what evil?
Just two days ago, wifey had a followup at her cardio's office (she has that peripheral artery leg thing going on); we took in our little wrist-BP monitor to compare with their equipment and were advised right away that these take the measurement too far from the heart and will actually misread "high".

The nurse was correct -- our wrist unit read over 20 points higher.

My Walgreens wrist unit reads way low. If you are struggling with BP, best thing to do is take your device with you to the doctor and calibrate with the nurse doing your reading. The nurse will be wrong more times than you might think...
