The High and the Mighty (1954) and Flight of the Phoenix (1965) are personal favorites.

These are actually excellent movies. There's another Wellman movie that precedes The High and the Mighty. It, too, stars John Wayne and Lloyd Nolan. I'm blanking on it at the moment.

I liked “The High and the Mighty” too. I liked the part where the stewardess (not flight attendant) tells the passengers that they will be fed during the eight hour flight from Honolulu to San Francisco.

You have good taste! My favorites as well. I like John Wayne’s character’s idea of CRM.

What! And you skipped the Strategic Air Command?
