This purebreed is pure hero.

A Doberman pinscher competing in the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in New York City next week is being credited with saving his Staten Island owner’s life nearly three years ago by detecting her breast cancer.

Troy, then a 4-month-old puppy, alerted Diane Papazian, 56, to a dangerous lump in her breast while they were cuddling in bed, said her husband, Harry.

Diane thought it was peculiar how persistent the pooch was in his nuzzling, leading her to conduct a self-examination and to discover the lump. She underwent a double mastectomy and chemotherapy to beat the disease, and has been cancer-free ever since, her husband said.

Yes; I like Dobermans; friendly dogs, at least the ones I’ve encountered over the course of my life.

I’ve also heard and read that miniature schnauzers have quite the nose for sniffing out some forms of cancer as well.

They save little kids from pedophiles, too.

Is there nothing they cannot do?

For 30 years I have meticulously spared our dogs the trouble of checking out my wife in this manner.

And, while a dog might do a spot check for lumps, I am careful to check head to toe on my wife. For free.

I just rescued a sweet girl who was scheduled to be euthanized. She is one of the most loving souls I have had the privelege of meeting. Part boxer, part angel, part love muffin- just perfect. She has been here three weeks and fits in like she was born here.

We are all very blessed!!!! Thank you, God, for putting dogs on this earth for us to love!!!

I’ve read of dogs who can do this. She will probably get requests for the ‘use of her dog’ now.
