Although I would never get a tattoo, I have to admit that it does look pretty cool.

All ink is self disfigurement. A little here and there is acceptable, but covering huge swaths of the body is hideous to worse than hideous.

Agree 100%

And you can include all that body piercing as well.

Some kids walk around today looking like they’ve had an accident in a machine shop.

And when the girls have it over both arms and shoulders I truly gag in disgust.

I saw today that Ideal Image now does laser tattoo removal as well as hair removal. Lots of money to be made off regret.

When making a hiring decision one of my rules of thumb (kept to myself,of course) was: “nobody with visible tattoos need apply”

Yeah, even if you like tattoos, too much is too much. So many people lately just get obsessed with covering every inch of skin with ink, but what is the point of that? You can’t distinguish what any of the tattoos are, it just becomes a blur. Like someone who puts 50 bumper stickers on their car, the only message it sends is “I’m crazy”.

When the tattoo generation’s kids grow up, I figure. They’ll have 18 years worth of being embarrassed on their parents behalf helping them make the right decision.

You should got out to eat sometime in Asheville in the summertime, when all the chubby lesbian waitresses flash lots of grotesque inked up skin…always makes me think of that toy we had as kids, remember? It was a glob of clay that would pick up the ink off a newspaper page…

Ugh. For the day when this goes out of style!!

Yeah, I’d hire folks like that for only a few kinds of jobs. Bartender, bouncer, mechanic, laborer, stuff like that, sure. Anything in an office or where you are expected to wear “business” attire? No way.

The problem is, the kind of young people that tend to get a lot of tattoos are not usually the kind that plan ahead for their long term future and career prospects. So you can tell them this stuff and it doesn’t deter them.
