First, I don’t know what the women were doing on the ice, but it’s not hockey. Second, the professional men making millions only do so by makng billions for owners, advertisers, merchandisers, equipment mfr.’s, and etc. So, there is enough of a fan base and business structure to be a massive money-making industry.

In addition to Harper and a balanced budget, which have already been mentioned, one can also find beer up North. Also, Canadian elections are honest.

Great scene from Canadian Bacon on this that ties in with the hockey angle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVPDL89FQ1M

Perhaps you would like this better http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3B0kOcp_tCQ
(A video of the second or third brawl between these two teams).

One could also pick up some Canadian strengths from the following song, Canadian Girls. The first four lines tie into hockey, with the fourth being “and her brothers taught her how to fight.”

No thanks....Fighting doesn’t make women’s hockey any more interesting or entertaining for me. I prefer to watch hockey played at it’s pinnacle of performance.

Aw fer cripes sakes, I can’t even stand up on a pair of razor blades, much less make any forward progress!!! It is a foreign invasive disease from the evil northern territories. A place we Texans once thought about annexing but thought better when we found out they have no sunshine nor summer. We like our ice with our scotch and tea and not on the floor. We like the sun to come up in the morning during winter and set in the evening, not come up at 11 and set at 2.

Hockey? Too much like soccer. Now don’t get me started on that game.

Canada barely ekes out a couple of victories in their national sport against a nation where hockey ranks maybe fourth in popularity among the sports.
Congratulations Canadians, and knock yourselves out.
I do, however, envy your growing freedom, while Obama and the Demmunist Party are fundamentally transforming the USofA into a third world commie craphole.

Lol - I said that, just last night. I can’t stand hockey because it’s soccer on ice. Back and forth, back and forth, with little scoring = boring. And the drama from those soccer players....they’re special.

Its not like they have anything else to be proud of.

Canada is on my bucket list. Pike and Walleye fishing. Not to mention Musky, Smallmouth Bass. The list goes on....................

Gee, a 1-0 decision isn’t cause for definitive bloviating. It was a tight, nail biting game. Congratulations to the winners. “Well played” to the Americans.

i grew up watching the great hockey of the 1980’s...early 90’s. After seeing Wayne Gretzky etc..set all those amazing records..the game was actually beautiful to watch. It actually inspired a bunch of us to start skating and playing again. What the NHL is today is a tedious, boring, scrambled cluster###. Whoever gets the lucky bounce wins the game. I’m sorry, but its turned into a very dumb looking game. Apparently, i’m not the only one who thinks that... the T.V rating’s are pathetic. Also, the league keeps trying to change the rules to open up the game. Ever since they started with these defensive “systems, its just gotten ugly. All the teams do it, and they all play the same. Whwn they get back to playing..check the scores of all the games..it’ll almost always be 2-1..or 3-2...blah.

Well, it was 3-0. Sort of a nice guess.

One could argue the merits of the game with NHL v. International size rinks, but that is Hockey. (every game will never be a nailbiter, nor a nearly equal & competitive contest...just like every sporting event)
