Is that the engine used in the Ford GT?

I had a professor in college who raced Nash Healys back in the day. He may have even driven in Le mans but I can’t remember for sure.

If you're talking the new Ford GT from a few years back, no. That is the newer modular motor.

The GT 40 ran the 427 side oiler, which head a wedge type head.

The SOHC was based on the FE block like the side oiler but had HUGE heads that had a single cam in each head.


Here is a 427 side oiler

Notice the difference in head size.
