Five facts about Fox News
By Jesse Holcomb
One of the most closely observedand powerfulfigures in the news business, Fox News Channel President Roger Ailes, is the subject of a 560-page biography being released today. Even before its publication, The Loudest Voice in the Room by journalist Gabriel Sherman has triggered jousting matches between Ailes legions of critics and defenders.
Whatever ones view of Ailes, it is undeniable that he has turned the 17-year-old Fox News Channel into a powerhouse that dominates the cable news ratings and wields substantial power in the world of conservative politics. Below are five facts about the organization that changed the face of cable news:

I agree with you 100&%, NKP.
And I would say that nextrush sums it up perfectly in #12:
Fox News uses real conservatives and real conservative
grievances as bait to lure conservatives in so they can
be sold RINO ideas and RINO politicians as the solution.
By Pew's own study, 43% of cable news viewers define themselves as conservative, 37% as moderate, 14% as liberal, so arguably Fox News just reflects the audience for cable news and does it rather well.
Also, if Fox News does spend more money than MSNBC, it's because FNC doesn't have a massive broadcast news network it can piggyback on (by the same token, though, Fox News's large share of the news audience may be explained in part by the fact that there isn't a broadcast or cable competitor for the conservative audience).

Six things that might happen when you call to add TheBlaze TV

Blaze TV
It was P.T. Barnum who spoke of a “sucker being born every minute”.
As far as Fox News and many talk radio programs are concerned, I’ve stopped being a “sucker”.
...yeah Laura, I was one of those screaming at the TV, especially at the establishment turd and the chickie who said "the illegals won't necessarily be voting demorat..."...guess she never heard of a place called California..
BTW, it was actually 4-1 with Wallace the Weasel...
...didn't matter, Laura kicked the hell out'of'em.
I watched fox on C-Band satellite before any cable companies had them and before Dish and DTV. They have slammed to the left.

“2.The Fox News audience skews more ideological than that of its two main competitors. The analysis says more about Pew than the fact does about Fox. There are other possible deductions - perhaps more Liberals misidentify their positions as mainstream rather than Liberal.”
I concur. WAY too many liberals label themselves conservative in an attempt to appear mature. The two friends of mine that are liberal truly believe they are conservative, as they expound the virtues of wealth redistribution, big government and restricting liberty.
As far as Fox News and many talk radio programs are concerned, Ive stopped being a sucker.

How about Rush?
Rush Limbaugh grew up in the Republican party with his father and grandfather deeply involved including party office and public office, political appointments, Eisenhower appointed his grandfather an ambassador to India.
I accept that Rush isn’t going to come out and diss the GOP. How many cardinals diss the church, so to speak. He was spoken recently of Washington ‘governing against the will of the people’.
I listen to what he says but sometimes it sounds like an attempt to drag people into the idea the Republican Party are the ‘good guys’ like the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Rush has been used by the GOP machine and the other hosts have been too. He says he’s not going to be a shill for the GOP and I am listening and shutting off once in a while to consider what I’m hearing.
Hannity because he uses so many GOPe guests loses a lot of credibility with me. He has a lot of cred to re-establish in my book.
Levin spoke recently of the notion of a better managed government. That’s not the real issue, its the existence of big government itself.
His constitutional change idea seems to be a way to occupy people’s time in the existing political system without having them ditch it for some third party notion. They talked it up here in PA back in 2005 after a big elected officials pay raise. It went nowhere.
Beck says he’s an addict who’s sober now. I identify with that and listen to him the most.
MY BOTTOM LINE IS THAT 95 PERCENT OF REPUBLICAN ELECTED OFFICIALS ARE FAKING OR REPUDIATING CONSERVATISM.
I wonder how many of the above hosts believe that.
Besides Shepard Smith who are the lefty's that are hosting a show? They used to have Geraldo and Paula Zahn.
Oeily is left
O'Reilly is all over the place. The reason I didn't mention him is because he has been on FOX since the mid-90s so he wouldn't count as a recent move to the left.
Maybe those “conservative” MSNBC viewers just watch “Lockup” and “Caught on Camera.”
Very true.
I do admit that I watch some of those programs.
Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a high ranking member of the Saudi royal family, owns part of NewsCorp...the parent company of Fox News. That is fact
Yes Fox News is Saudi and Wahaabi influenced.
