Exactly. I didn’t have a male teacher until 6th grade.
My 1st grade teacher locked me in the class bathroom for 10 minutes with another kid for racing down the hall after last bell.
She threatened to put diapers on us for acting like babies.
It didn’t happen and we went home. This was 1970.
We never raced down the hall again. :^)
I remembering visiting a home for “orphan” or problem kids or something. Just a weekend, I don’t remember why.
Anyway, 2 boys tried to run away. Their punishment was no clothes, just wear trash bags. lol. Boys and girls had separate “houses”, of course.
For the kids who followed the rules, there was a pool, game room, horses... I remembered thinking that it wouldn’t be so bad. The only thing I might have had a problem with (much later anyway) was the Presbyterian Church attendance was mandatory. I’m Baptist.
Men should not teach elementary school because too many of them turn out to be pedophiles.
