If you've been on the Internet at all today, you've almost certainly seen the story claiming that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un had his uncle executed last month by stripping him naked and feeding him to 120 hungry dogs. The story was first reported by a minor Hong Kong outlet on Dec. 12, was picked up by a Singaporean newspaper on Dec. 24 and since late Thursday has been sweeping through nearly every corner of the U.S. media. The only problem is that it's probably – probably – not true.

I think one would be hard pressed to find 120 dogs in North Korea that had not been eaten by the natives.

I bet they did feed Unc to the dogs. After all, just think, North Korea is going to the dogs. Also the dogs probably had to be fattened up since they are a staple in the NK diet so they killed two birds with one stone.

There was an earlier report that uncle and associates were hit by a direct mortar in an open arena.

I remember a story from a while back that held that he’d ordered someone else executed who’d ticked him off...with mortars.

Initial reports were he was immediately taken out and shot, after a fair and just trial. Naturally.

That’s what I thought, too.
120 dogs wouldn’t last past Christmas in NK.

I’ve got to figure a dead communist is a dead communist is a dead communist. How it ends up dead matters less than whether it ends up dead.

Stratfor has a good analysis of north korea’s “ ferocious, weak & crazy” regime preservation strategy

http://www.stratfor.com/weekly/ferocious-weak-and-crazy-north-korean-strategy

this “dog bites man” story fits with ferocious and crazy

also, the way china plays this is interesting

“Kim Jong Un probably didn’t feed his uncle to 120 hungry dogs”

No one in the MSM could possibly know if it happened or not. The only thing that is known is that Kim Jong Un had his uncle killed. Whether it was done by feeding him to dogs or some other method is not worth speculating about.

The Fat Leader did have his former girlfriend and her entire dance troupe machined-gunned last year.

That was a different guy, in 2012. I remember reading about that well before this guy was killed.

It is documented that North Korea routinely feeds political prisoners to trained packs of dogs.

That seems to be a preferred method. If I were to face execution, I’d probably chose mortar or guillotine.

Reminds me of a Major Hochstetter line: “You will be given a fair trial, after which you will be shot.”
