(CNSNews.com) -- Females in the Marine Corps currently are not required to do even a single pull-up, and a deadline mandating that by Jan. 1, 2014, they be able to do at least 3 pull-ups as part of their training has been delayed for at least a year, the Corps quietly announced on social media.

Unlike their female counterparts, male Marines have long been required to do at least 3 pullups as part of the Physical Fitness Test (PFT). That's the minimum requirement for males.

So even the Marines will just change the rules again to make sure females can not fail to get into ground combat roles where they can not succeed. Once again, the only way to make PT standards gender neutral is to use the lowest female standards for everyone. Eventually that will happen.

When is the last time a program for men was suspended because they could not perform the tasks adequately?

The Joint Chiefs of Staff “agreed” to this nonsense of women in combat. These careerists have devolved into just another politically correct Federal bureaucracy rather than a council of warriors dedicated to the nation’s defense.

Well, it’s a good thing that today’s Marines will never need to carry a wounded comrade to safety, or run several hundred meters carrying the belt-fed machine gun and a couple of hundred rounds of ammo, or anything else that requires upper-body strength.

I don't know why any able bodied person wouldn't want to do a few pullups. I have cranky shoulders and when I do a couple of pullups regularly (or even just hang), it helps keep my shoulders from giving me troubles.

As a femal Army Vet, this chit has gone waaaaaaay too far!

Y’all better learn to defend youselves because your military will no longer be able to do so.

Imagine a Platoon of ‘Pajama Boys’ and Girls coming to save your town! Baaah! *SPIT*

Other ‘skills’ MORE important than doing a single pullup:

1) Putting a condom on a banana

2) Celebrating diversity

3) Allegiance toward Our Dear Leader

4) Recognizing transgender people and emoting with their feelings

5) Establishing a peaceful dialogue with those who display an aggressive stance

6) Establishing the fact that ‘firearms’ are lethal and must be prohibited on a military base

7) Pointing out that hand to hand combat skills are nothing more than male aggression and should be outlawed .

8)Convincing others through open communication that Islam is very pro-female

9) Womyns Studies degrees should be a immediate fast track to senior officer positions

About 1/3 of the college age girls I know can do multiple pull ups.

What really dumbfounds me is the 3 pull up rule for men.

I mean 3 pull ups ? what the heck.

Maybe you excuse the generals who are over 50 and sit in the arm chairs directing the troops. But anyone in the field should be able to do 10 pull ups. Most of the geeks in grad school computer/software phd programs can do 10 pull ups.

As far as the girls/women in the marines go, there should be a 5 pull up requirement but you can be exempted if elderly (over 40 in this case, in tennis you are senior if over 35), if you are pregnant, have been wounded or injured but still can serve in some capacity, or are strictly non battlefield personel like IT (Information tech), surveillance, or intellingence personel.

Sliding down that slippery slope. Those in charge don’t care or even know what is like to really serve. These new age generals would never have made it during the real days of our military. Like before all these global policing “wars”.

I’m a lady in my late fifties and even I can do a few pull-ups. What is wrong with these girls?

To give everyone some context (and this article failed at this), the female requirement for pull-ups is only recent. I was in for 20 years: and they used to do a timed "dead hang" pull-up (singular, not plural); where they would pull themselves up one time with the chin over the bar, and the clock would start when the chin broke the plane up, and it would stop when the chin broke the plane down.

It has been historically acknowledged that a woman does not have the upper body strength to be in ground combat operations; but those lines became blurred in Iraq (the need for women to search other women because of muslim sensitivities): which isn't a bad thing because the doctrine of COIN requires winning the population.

I know what you are thinking: we didn't win the population. And that my friend is a different argument: Is current U.S. COIN doctrine valid for a Muslim population?

That is a military-academic question.

Lets be honest...this rule is in solely for the fat LesbiDykes who cannot pull themselves up.

Women who are in good shape can do pull-ups. In fact, most of the military PT requirements favor smaller people who are in shape. The fat LesbiDyke cannot
