HOUSTON, TX, December 20, 2013 (Operation Rescue) A Houston grand jury has refused to indict late-term abortionist Douglas Karpen after a months-long investigation into allegations of illegal late-term abortions and the killing of babies born alive at his two abortion clinics.
Three former employees Deborah Edge, Krystal Rodriguez, and Gigi Aguliar came forward in a videotaped statement released in May to say that Karpen regularly murdered babies born alive outside the womb, sometimes twisting the heads off newborn babies. Douglas Karpen is scot-free Douglas Karpen is scot-free
The allegations against Karpen were based on information acquired from four former Karpen employees and on photographs of dead late-term babies taken by some of the workers on their cell phones. The grisly photos showed very large aborted babies that were nearly decapitated. (You may see the photos here. WARNING: Very graphic and disturbing images.)
The informants also told Operation Rescue that Karpen routinely did abortions beyond the legal limit of 24 weeks, which seemed to be supported by the photographs.
The refusal to indict Karpen is a gross miscarriage of justice. The grand jury has essentially freed Karpen to continue to violate Texas laws and take the lives of late-term babies that the law was meant to protect, said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman. Its upsetting to know that the kind of brutality shown in the photos taken at his clinic will be allowed continue.
Operation Rescue alleged that Karpen was murdering babies in in a similar way as convicted Pennsylvania abortion Kermit Gosnell, who was found guilty of three counts of first degree murder for intentionally killing babies born alive during late-term abortions.

Its simply unbelievable that a grand jury would not find that Karpen broke the law, just based on the photographic evidence alone, Newman said. Theres no way any reasonable person could look at the images of those abortion victims and say that nothing was done wrong. The babies throats were cut from ear to ear. That isnt something that can be done inside the womb.
Newman continued, We are not giving up on the Karpen matter. We will continue to seek ways through the legal system to bring him to justice. This isnt the last anyone will hear of this.
Background
Isn’t Texas one of the more conservative states?
Yes, but Houston is a left-leaning city with a lezbo mayor.
The Democrats there tend toward fanaticism.
Prosecutors can sway a grand jury
Suspect at best.. Haven't we been led to believe that a prosecutor can indite a ham sandwich if they wanted? Either we haven't gotten the other side of the story, if there is one, it must be a doozy..
There is no defense presented in a Grand Jury I think
I disagree. He should be drawn and quartered.
You are correct. No defense with GJ.
This brings Jesus’s words to mind:
“If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.”
Millions of Texans are abortion boosters; that’s why I wonder if Wendy Davis could pull a surprise against the low-key Greg Abbott, who seems to be camqaigning like Cuccinelli at this point.
Conservatives need to take Austin and Houston back. If you don’t TX will go blue. You need to convince the public that this is wrong, grassroots-style. Another thing is bringing in business from other states, who brings a lot of their personnel with them. They make a difference in communities. The communities want to help them feel welcome so they bring them into their society and the newcomers change the locals. I see this all the time. I see how Germany did this to our service members and civilians. When our people come home, they are not the same. They have become ‘enlightened’! We don’t need more blue states!
They have a rat infestation problem that many native Texans dont want to admit. Rats leave their home states seeking lower taxes and jobs but they bring with them the same “values” that distoryed the state they came from.
I’m against violence, but if this germ were to go missing.... I wouldn’t be volunteering to go look for him.
I wish I had been on that grand jury.
Thank you for this comment.
The only thought that saves sanity is that Our Father thought these dear little ones too good for this earth age-He wanted them with Him and His army that (hopefully) comes soon to pour out His wrath against this offal.
Offal INCLUDES those that FAILED to punish abortionist/murderer.
Who taught this guy OB/GYN? Bubba Smith?
“I love the easy-opening heads.”
I don’t know, but if Americans were of the same character in larger numbers as our founders, each and every abortion clinic would cease to exist.
