Cameron says he plans to complete principal shooting on the three movies at one time, perhaps over a period of about nine months.

I only want to see one sequel -- in which the humans come back, kick butt and take all the Unobtanium they need to save humanity.

I was so happy to hear he’d finally gotten over his Titanic obsession and was returning to SF... then saw the previews for Avatar. So sad.

I heard the Obama administration, banned all imports of Unobtainium, and gave all the locals US citizenship.

Yeah, me too. Avatar was amazing as a technical product but annoying as a preachy, pagan, environmentalist wacko propaganda piece.
To: rlmorel
Not just a sequel.
THREE sequels. THREE.
To: discostu
The plot was apparently too much for him to resist.

The use of "unobtanium" (an inside-movie term for the thing that everyone wants but is scarce) is reason enough not to watch any more of these stupid movies.

That was my impression of it as well. In my version of it, Captain Whiteman and his space cadets land to find the native Navi all dying of malaria and offer them 100,000 tons of DDT for the rights to grow as much Cuban tobacco as they could carry home with, everybody shakes hands and smiles, and the movie is basically over other than for the sex scenes....
To: BenLurkin
such a contrived piece of garbage.
yes, the spear chucking natives will be triumphant over the invaders from another galaxy. it’s just mind boggling. why land miles away? why not land on it once you determine the natives weren’t cooperating and you were going to take it anyhow?
how this movie wasn’t labelled racist is beyond me... oh that’s right, it depicts blacks attacking whites veiled in cgi... got it

I hope he casts Evil Military Corporations as Military Corporations of Evilness this time. It just didn’t feel right watching Greedy Corporate Army trying to play Military Corporations of Evilness in the first movie.

I’m first in line to boycott all of them!

The movie contains one important lesson for everyone: wipe out the indiginous BEFORE taking their unobtanium.
But I was wondering if there was going to be a sequel. I liked the movie but when you look hard, it's almost a comical parody of environmentalists. All the sterotypes are there: the military type that hates science, loves to shoot things. The greed corporation willing to kill people for the bottom line and doesn't care about the environmnet. And the trees: the trees were actual conscious beings. Their god was even a tree who could talk and control nature.

Then that will make four of his indoctrination messages I will not see. I think the best portrayal of Cameron I ever saw was on South Park.
