He was the keynote speaker at some convention 4 years ago.
Yes, it was CPAC in 2009. I suppose that could be considered a "public appearance" but I was thinking more of like what Ann Coulter does, or Hannity.
Rush sitting behind the EIB mike and preaching to the choir is getting us nowhere. Time for him to get out and start fighting in the streets.

Beginning in 1932, 1150 kilocycles in Los Angeles was the home of KRKD--"K-Arcade"--whose transmitter was located in the Spring Street Arcade building in Los Angeles. In the 1960's, it was a music station, spinning discs by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Doris Day, etc.--but no Beatles, Stones or Beach Boys.

Although they are no longer used to transmit radio signals--the transmitter for 1150 kcs. is now located in La Puente, about 20 miles to the east--the towers retain the call letters, which were dropped sometime in the early 1970's. ,p>

While I understand what you are saying - it isn’t safe for Rush to be out in public too much. He is the #1 target of the left since he’s the #1 radio host whose name comes up time and time again on the left. I quite understand why he keeps a low public profile. I’ll bet if the truth were known - he has to have body guards due to whackos threatening his life.

Skyping from Florida is not a public appearance. (See my post #61)

Soooooo, the great "patriot" can talk the talk to sell books and tea, but not walk the walk?In the meantime Lib successes like Øbama(no)Care, gay marriage, immigration, welfare, etc., are destroying America.

Is Bill Handel an Obamatron? I haven’t listened in years.

I never understood Sean’s passion for Velma, who is nothing more than an Obama drone

I can hardly tolerate Sean as it is, but when he puts Velma on, I switch the radio to country music for the rest of his show.

Limbaugh’s L.A. Station Move a Blow to Liberal Radio

article

The Los Angeles talk radio market was dramatically altered Thursday when radio giant Clear Channel announced that “The Rush Limbaugh Show” would be moving from West Coast flagship station KFI-AM 640 to KTLK-AM 1150 (now renamed “The Patriot”) beginning Jan. 1.

Limbaugh, who had been on KFI for more than two decades, will be joined on the new station by Glenn Beck in the mornings & Sean Hannity in the afternoons. KTLK, which currently airs “The Stephanie Miller Show” & other liberal-oriented programs, moreover has plans to commence airing a new, local conservative talk program live during the afternoon drive time, RealClearPolitics has learned.

It is unclear where Miller, who broadcasts her nationally syndicated program out of KTLK’s Burbank studio, will air her show after the change.

The move is a blow to liberal talk radio, which has long struggled to build an audience. KTLK, once thought of as a potential competitor with KFI, now garners a fraction of the audience that KFI does.

Limbaugh had a lengthy history with KFI, which he has referred to as his West Coast flagship station for years. When visiting Los Angeles in the past, he would perform his syndicated show out of KFI studios.

KFI morning-drive host Bill Handel’s program will now shift one hour, airing from 6 to 10 a.m., Pacific time. Bill Carroll’s current midday program will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., & a new program will air from 1 to 3 p.m. The remainder of KFI’s schedule will likely remain unchanged.

The move, though sudden, isn’t particularly surprising. KFI’s live hosts are significantly less conservative than Limbaugh — Handel endorsed Barack Obama for president in 2008 & again in 2012, for instance — & many have voiced annoyance about being tied to Limbaugh. In recent years, KFI has tried to brand itself as less conservative.

Clear Channel is expected to make a similar move with Limbaugh’s program in San Francisco. News broke in August that Limbaugh’s show would moreover be moving in New York, from Cumulus station WABC to WOR, which is owned by Clear Chan

As of Jan 2, it won’t be. It currently airs the likes of Randi Rhodes and Stephanie Miller but with the move it’ll be Beck,
Rush, Hannity, and a local conservative talker. KFI is said to be less conservative than one would think, with the exception of Rush...see article I posted just above. New branding for KTLK will be THE PATRIOT

All Access says Rush will air on both KFI and KTLK for two weeks to get listeners used to the move

I wondered how many people would just tune into KFI and find Rush gone and not go looking for him. I guess CC thought the same thing.

It will be interesting to watch KTLK's ratings to see if they improve or if they perform AM 1200 in Boston. Although KTLK seems to have better signal potential.

While both KFI and KTLK have 50kw day signals, KTLK is pulled in going east with the signal being pushed out over the ocean. KFI is non directional and has better overall coverage.

No, Handel is fairly neutral, but one of his cohorts - I think it's Rich Morrada(sp?)is indeed an Obamatron and a propos nothing at all - will shout out "Oboma"several times during one show.

Pity,because Bill is rather witty.
