Minnesota State University Moorhead is The Daily Callers Ass Clown College of the Week because it has threatened to can a bunch of professors and eliminate entire academic departments in order to cope with a $5 million budget deficit.
The administrative division is, of course, not on the chopping block.
Also, despite its severe budget shortfall, the regional public university managed to find enough money less than a year ago to pay a stipend to visiting scholar Bill Ayers.

No doubt Women’s Studies and Ethnic Studies will get a boost in funding.
They wanted to eliminate any department that taught courses which airhead Ayers couldn’t pass.
Which means all science, math, and engineering.
Which leaves the “joke” majors...such as education.
At first I thought good they will eliminate those classes and departments that really belong over at the senior center (you know cooking for two, basket weaving with intention, and the like) but no then I find out they are considering cutting English, physics, and other appropriate courses Clown College indeed

I somewhat expect this from Minnestoopid. All will be replaced by postmodern deconstructionism and the destruction of “privileged oppressors”. Anyone who achieves academic excellence will have done so not by hard work, but by unfair privilege.
Diclosure statement: I lived in Minnestoopid for ten long years.
I attended Moorhead State College, now Minnesota State University, Moorhead from 1967-1971. Most of the students were first generation college students and were eager to learn. It was and maybe still is a good college.
The faculty was liberal then; I suspect a good number of left-wingers make up the faculty in some departments
