Fifty years after shots rang out in Dealey Plaza, killing a larger-than-life figure and abruptly ushering in what one historian has called the decade of shocks from Dallas to Watergate the federal agency that stood at the center of seemingly all the intrigues and conspiracy theories of that shadowy era is still holding onto an estimated 1,100 documents relating to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.

One official who has drawn particular scrutiny by researchers is the late George Joannides, an undercover CIA officer who worked in Miami and New Orleans in the early 1960s.
Researchers say that on the evening of Nov. 22, 1963, Joannides was busy at work distributing materials to the news media that tied Oswald to pro-Castro groups, among other mysterious actions he took in the aftermath of the assassination. And when the HSCA reopened the Kennedy case in the late 1970s, Joannides was brought out of retirement to serve as the agencys liaison to the committee. Researchers tend to agree that Joannides should more properly have appeared as a witness before HSCA.

They keep moving the declassification of them now it is what 2027? I’d like to know why.
george de mohrenschildt...”
Yeah, it’s too bad that he “committed suicide”. He could have told a lot.
Close friends of GHW Bush, and Oswald...and....?
Nothing to see here move along.
He was shot by a time traveler.
Sandy Berglar took the original file. All that is in there now is an old Monroe Playboy edition.
I’d tell ya’ ... but then I’d haft’a kill ya’
I've heard that damned 'shots rang out' phrase for 50 years. In all of my experience, I have never heard shots 'ring'.
Alot of stuff w/ The Mafia, CIA and LBJ’s figerprints on it.
ping JFK files
I would love to see what’s in the FBI’s secret MLK files.
Haha that’s waaay over the top...
Sort of like Jamie Gorelick being on the committee that investigated the 9-11 wall of silence erected by the Clinton administration?
Kennedy was having an affair with a communist agent. The leaders of the Democrat party found out from the press about the affair. What happens to the Democrat party during the 1964 elections when the American people find out their Democrat Commander In Chief is in a honey-trap with a communist agent? What happens to The Great Society and all the other Democrat vote buying schemes? Kennedy’s sins would have made the Democrats the minority party for the next 50 years. The Democrat leaders knew that. What else could they do to keep the money rolling in? Kennedy was taken out by his own Democrat party.
Then there is the latest allegation that the last shot the hit JFK in the back of his head was accidentally fired by a Secret Serviceman using an AR15 with a frangible bullet. Who really knows other than those really involved.

People are living longer than they used to, so some of the girlfriends mentioned in the files might still be alive.
Do you have a source for your allegation that JFK was having an affair with a communist agent?
I’m not doubting it——at least not at this point.
I would just like to know who knew about it, and how did the story get out.
Kennedy was having an affair with a communist agent.”
If that is true...and certainly JFK was having an affair with just about anyone...but if that is true...then, wouldn’t that make the true Cold Warriors in the CIA have an interest aligned with LBJ, with the Mafia, and with the anti-castro Cubans?
What’s amazing is that there are about 10 identifiable groups that would have wanted him dead.
Apparently they all got together and got what they wanted.....
One other point. Robert Blakey, who was on the House staff, about ten years ago departed dramatically from his original views that the CIA cooperated with their investigation. In 2003, he said that he no longer believes that the CIA cooperated at all.
Blakey is no flake. I think if he says, “the CIA did not cooperate” then we can take it to the bank that the CIA did not cooperate.
Which raises the question: why not?
