From reading this story, it sounds like this person is an OFFICIAL UN Translator, an UN employee. In my late parent's retirement community were a retired husband-wife team of that position. In a conversation I was informed that they were subject to a pension-forfeit secrets clause on their knowledge. Given that their pensions were large and untaxed, this was a significant threat.
Interesting aside, we are talking about the 1990s and it was interesting that the husband was a Belgium native while the wife was French. The fact that they chose to retire in the US was an interesting conversation. They had the same tax treatment in Europe but their mutual choice was for the larger sense of freedom as expressed by their conversations.
