If there was ever a case study on why preppers should be prepared to defend their supplies, the upcoming episode of National Geographics Doomsday Preppers would provide a perfect example. ----------------------------------------------------
National Geographic appears to have chosen Smith as a poster boy to give the preparedness-minded a bad name. I wouldnt set your DVR for this one excerpts seem to indicate a show full of bad advice and ill-thought-out strategies from someone who refers to himself as a professional deer hunter

"Smith has gotten a lot of bad comments from the prepping community and has responded with this literate response on his facebook page [Author's note: Smith's Facebook page was removed today]:
'idk what is worse the people that cant tell the difference between entertainment/tv hype? or the people that are commenting way beyond things I said talking about killing my family and raping my wife and or killing me preemptively I said I would do whatever is necessary to survive and if that means kicking in doors then yes that is the guy I will be. get a ******* life you troll keyboard warrior pieces of **** its reality tv if you thought entertainment wasnt a possibility swallow your own 12 gauge barrel."
Follow up to the nat geo prepper show. includes his facebook rant. Bad language warning.
Someone threatens to go to peoples houses and forcibly take their food and stuff, and he is surprised by the reaction?
lol
Hmm...I don't know, with that flair for self-advertisement he might stand to make a fair chunk of change from the credulous. Trying it for real, though - well, there have been people like that for all of human history and an awful lot of them end up with their heads stuck on poles. Just a word to the wise.
Nat Geo? No Thanks.
I watched about 10 minutes of one of their prepper shows one time. That’s about all the time I can spend watching ANY Nat Geo TV before I get nauseous.
He’d be even more surprised if he actually tried it. All the preppers I know are very well armed.
Our neighborhood unwelcoming committee has a special gift waiting for scum like this.
Their heads will tend to be on poles before the real action begins.
Prepping is more than rations :).
By “it’s reality tv,” I think he means, “don’t take it seriously”. He may be an effective prepper, acting for the cameras to get paid a lot, and then using that money for serious prepping. I just would prefer the type that puts out great, if less provocative and ratings-worthy, advice.
“He is a thug, plain and simple.”
Needs killing.
bttt
My thought is that he is readily findable thru the internetz and GPS. If that is the way he thinks, should he be upset if someone comes and take his stuff?
PING!
Was that the idiot who tried to make a bullet proof vest out of tar and bathroom tiles, then thought it could stop a .30-06 round?
That dude wouldn’t last a month if the SHTF for real.
We have something called the “Skidmore soltution” here.
Not defending this loon, but he’s got a point. No matter how well armed you are, if a large, angry, desperate mob wants what you have, they’re going to get it, sooner or later. I’m sure everyone’s imagination is as good as mine.
It is important to build a sense of community in a survival situation, and nothing builds a sense of community better than, oh, I dunno, public impalement? I'll bring the bean casserole.
The only difference between him and Obama is his truthfulness about his intentions.
I can’t imagine making yourself so well known on this topic if people can easily find you and find out about you online.
Me and my friends Smith & Wesson will meet ya at the door, you idiot.
