Saturday night at a black tie dinner in Chicago, a Dodgers broadcaster will go into the Hall of Fame and it won't be Vin Scully.
A shocker? No.
Scully is already there. If there is a Hall of Fame that has any connection whatsoever to broadcasting and Scully isn't in it, it's a lousy Hall of Fame.
Now, Charley Steiner will be joining him. That means, next year, when fans tune in to Dodgers' baseball, they will be informed and entertained by two Hall-of-Famers. That's far from the norm, maybe a first, and should make Dodgers fans proud. Even if their team doesn't turn out to be winners, they'll be getting the news from two of them.

There are plenty of Dodger fans outside of southern California. My older brother goes back to Koufax and Drysdale, and I go back to Hooten and Sutton. We grew up in Connecticut. When we went to Dodgers-Mets games there would be nearly as many Dodger as Mets fans there.
Murdoch should have brought the Bums back to Brooklyn.
Not living in his market, I have not heard Charley Steiner much. But what I have heard from him over the years, I have liked. He is a worthy member of the honorable League of Charlies. (We do not penalize for the “Charley” spelling. But “Chuck” is right out.)
Hey ES well known fact on streets of LA that possiblty Charlie Sietner would take Vin Scully place when that day happen that well known story
Remember him from his early days in Cleveland radio and TV. Good radio voice, bad TV face
