... when compared to women who consumed more wine, coffee and vegetables.

I knew that was a good diet for mental health.

Depression foods include pasta.
Upbeat attitude foods include vegies.
As is typical the researchers got it bass ackward.

I’ve never seen Obama on TV. Why would I do that to myself? We have all of “Magnum, P.I.” on DVD.

Not a pasta person so guess that is why I am never depressed. On the other hand I have a friend who is a pasta nut, eats tons of it and is on every drug there is for depression.
Guess that nails it. Study done. lol

The snob factor alone would scare ‘depression’ away.

I remember a lawsuit many years ago of an ex-wife suing her former husband, a medical doctor. After they were estranged, but before they were divorced, she asked him for medical advice to help her lose weight. He advised her to adopt an “all pasta diet”.

She was suing him for malpractice, as this diet, and her lack of self-awareness, resulted in her gaining close to 100 pounds.

I keep The Rockford Files, Kojak, and The Streets Of San Francisco plus Cannon DVDs around if the wun is on at home. For some reason my spousal unit doesn’t think that he is as evil as I do. She isn’t a fan of his and didn’t vote for him.

I ate pasta in Italy a few months ago. Was great, portions small and the meatballs looked like large gum balls.

Pizza sucked.

I was in a hotel by the Vatican and was eating Pizza in several shops around in all directions for over a week.

They were not very good compared to mom and pa places here in the USA.

Their pasta though was made fresh and it tasted great.

The flavor was missing compared to all the other foods IMO.

Figure a 3-4 block radius around the Vatican. Even the Pope couldn’t help on this one.

Wheat is just plain bad for you, all around.

Some day, ADM's political influence will wane, and doctors will feel free to again admit this truth.

They were not very good compared to mom and pa places here in the USA.

We traveled from Naples to Rome to Florence to Venice to Como. Had pizza everywhere except Venice (ate seafood there). After first trying pizza in Naples, I realized that the food was not comparable to pizza in the US. I don't mean to say that American pizza (from a local pizzeria) is bad. It's just that the Italian version is made differently. The crust is almost papery thin and the sauce is light and fresh. They look at you funny if you eat it with your hands. I had one pizza with fresh prosciutto that was amazing. I want to go back just for that.

The pizza in Virginia continues to improve as well. I conduct a study every Friday, as there is no meat on Fridays in a real Italian home.

Ha. True enough. It was funny watching a woman on the train wildly gesticulating during a phone conversation. It sounded like she was in an epic argument, but then she ended the call with "Ciao Ciao Ciao" and then about 10 air kisses.

Eating large amounts of ice cream directly from the carton late at night causes depression and bouts of crying.

Both immediately, and again after the weight gain.
