I don’t have cable or tv at all, for that matter...........and the thing I miss the most are the classic movies. I LOVE THEM!!!! I love b&w movies....I’m fascinated with anything b&w...especially the movies from the 30’s on through the early 60’s//....color movies from those years also of course....but I really miss TCM...that and Animal Planet.

I like movies from the years the Hays code was in effect-circa 1933 to the mid to late 1960s. There were rules and regulations filmmakers had to follow and I generally don’t have to worry too much about the film’s content if which watch them with younger relatives or with friends and their children.

Great movie. As an architectural fan the building and furnishing are interesting too.

“As an architectural fan the building and furnishing are interesting too”

In that case, I recommend “The Fountainhead” (1949) to you.

You’re welcome. I always like to read if I’m able to introduce a new viewer to a classic film from a (relatively speaking)cleaner era of American cinema.

TCM’s “The Fountainhead” (noon to 2) was more to my mood - Gary Cooper and Patricia Neal - ends with iconic shot of Neal riding up the construction elevator to the top of “the world’s tallest building” with Cooper waiting at the top, triumphant in his individualism and independence....

I probably go back farther than you on the “classic film genre”, I just never happened to catch this one before.

While some film noir was pretty good in those days a whole lot of it was crap and not worth watching. But that’s just my opinion and probably why I never saw this one.
