Vance McAlliser, one of two candidates in a runoff for Congressman from Louisianas Fifth District, said yesterday that he supported a path to citizenship for aliens that are in the United States illegally.
Path to Citizenship is considered by most conservatives to be a politically correct term for amnesty for illegals.
From the News Star:
And on immigration reform, McAllister said he would support a path to citizenship for those immigrants already here illegally.
We have to secure the borders, but (citizenship) has to be attainable for those people already here, he said. It has to be a tough path, but it has to be attainable.
Sorry, Vance. If somebody breaks into your house, it doesn’t put them on a path to ownership.
Having read his positions, it’s pretty clear that he’s another vote for the establishment.
Not very bright of him.
Riser is expected to crush him, yes?
Probably, but I’ve not seen any recent polling. McAllister’s gimmick to get into the runoff was support from the Duck Commander clan.
Redistricting extended LA-05 to the top of the “boot” part of the state, which means it’s close enough that I now hear their campaign commercials over the radio. Rather amusing, as I live in suburban New Orleans and LA-05 is supposed to be one of two Northern LA districts.
In any case, Riser was the favorite going in. I expect he’ll win, assuming McAllister doesn’t catch fire as an “outsider” candidate.
LA redistricting could have been handled better, IMO. I don’t get why that did that with the 5th.
An ‘outsider’ running on shamnesty, is strange. It’s rather lame to me that the Duck whatever show was a factor in the primary.
