He has a crew of Indians and Bangladeshi? Simple solution ,, drive it to a scrapyard in India and sell it for a few $$MILLION$$ ,, he will have to assume a new name but he and his crew will be smelling like roses.

Good idea but fortunately he’s not shady like the company that employed him who got him into this situation in the first place. But i’d have to admit, at this point, it might be tempting...
That is the best plan of action.
This isn’t much different than what happened in the trucking industry when a major company went out of business a few years ago.
Did you read the article? No port would allow him to dock. He was out of food, fuel, and money. The crew was getting rebelious. He received an award for his courage and his ability to hold the crew in check.
There is a larger point to the article. Apparently there are dozens of ships floating around the oceans in a similar state for weeks and months. Irresponsible owners abandoning ships and crews.
Ship tracking is now showing this ship just off the coast of Malta.
A lawyer might argue that
(1) Failure to pay the captain/crew's salary is effectively a termination of employment.
(2) Without an official captain/crew on board, the ship is derelict and may be seized for salvage by anyone.
(3) Therefore, the former crew are now the rightful owners of the ship.
Drop anchor. Ride the lifeboats in.

SO WHAT! Just drive it in and park it... the BK company would abandon it and the dockyard will deal with the abandoned vessel.
Would you rather sit just offshore on a ship without food and starve?

WOW! That’s a big help to the Captain and his crew. I read the article and I still don’t know what’s happened to the ship and crew.

He probably found out about the award by E:Mail, doesn’t solve his food problem though.
I think the BK court forced the back wages free for the crew but I too am not sure how it turned out based on the way the article is written..
